Hair maintenance and no money

What do you do about your hair when you're skint?

I recently got mine cut back into a bob for my return to work after mat leave - i had just let it grow into a long mess when i was at home. Six weeks later and it really needs cutting again; but if I go to get it cut that blows a big chunk off my budget for personal spends over the month.

I need it cut every six weeks to keep the shape, so thats money coming out of every monthly cheque for a haircut - I cant afford that.

but i want nice hair!

officervanhalen definitely agree that bobs need regular trims but not everyone needs to blow dry a bob cut. It would take me longer to tie up a bun than do my bob styling. I have dead straight hair that would sit in place for a bob if a comb it. It's the same hairstyle my 3yo DD1 has Smile. I think the key is to find a low maintenance style that suits your hair type.

I hear mobile stylist are cheaper too. But I drive to a student area of my town to get a hair cut and it's about £30. It costs £60 where I live.

Just shoulder length all one length. trim doesnt need a top stylist!

Also been trying to find the Crea Clip in the UK without success - anyone have any ideas? Smile

I think grow it and spend extra time styling it at home. Play around with your parting and putting bits behind your ears.
I found bobs to be high maintenance and hard if you are on a budget. Lots of salons will trim fringes for a few pound or go to your regular one for free. I have really long hair and pop in two to three times for a free fringe trim. I then shape my eye brows and feel really good for the price of a two pound tip.
temporary colours are good too and try out different earings or lipsticks.
