Tried on at least 20 bras today. Not one fit. Help me wise bra ladies!

Hello there. I've read the bra intervention threads on here and am fairly sure I'm a 30 D. Also, a proper bra fitting at Rigby and Pellar sized me at a 30 D a few years ago and there have been no major weight changes, new babies or anything since then.

So imagine my frustration when the one decently fitting bra I have finally gives up the ghost and I go bra shopping and nothing fits. And I mean NOTHING. Many of the 30 D's are blatantly too tight in the band and small in the cup (especially if the bras are padded or plunge style). So I try a 30 DD. Too large in the cup, except for one where I'm spilling out of the cups, so too small. Weird.

I find a few bras which seem to fit so I buy them. I've now tried them on at home and no. They will have to go back to the shop. The main problem seems to be that bras are not made for women who have lost the fullness in the top of their breast due to multiple pregnancies. So all the bras I try gape at the top of the cup (especially when I lean forward) but create a slight quad boob at the bottom where all the fat and tissue lies.

I don't know what else to try. I've tried a 32 C, 30 D's, and 30 DD's. Nothing fits right. I know it sounds dramatic but I was almost in tears at one point today. It's so frustrating. I just want a decently fitting and flattering bra and one doesn't seem to exist Sad

Help anyone? Thanks. x

What are your measurements?

Which bras have you got - sometimes helps to narrow down the issues. Are you trying moulded t shirt type by any chance?

You need professional help!! Wink

I had this after feeding DC2. I knew I should be a 32E, I had surviving one pre pregnancy bra that was a 32E and fitted perfectly. Tried on 32Es in multiple shops - awful! Way too much fabric in the cups. I totally get why you nearly cried.

I made an appointment with Bravissimo: "You look like a 32E" she said. "I KNOW!!" said I.

The first one she brought had the same problem as all the others. She took one look and then brought several other brands that fitted like a dream. I bought the lot!

Moral of the story - it's not just about the size, it's also the style.

(For the record, Panache work well for me.)

Have you read this?

Yes it does tend to be the moulded t-shirt type bras I go for. Usually with a bit of light padding.

And yes I do find some styles work better than others. Plunge type bras don't work for me. A full cup style is much better.

I don't actually know my measurements.

Thanks Jacksonville - I hadn't read that. Didn't realise you were supposed to bend over when you measured. That'll make a huge difference with me as although I have quite a lot of tissue, I have grown and fed three babies which means my breasts lie quite flat.

You've figured out the problem which in itself is helpful. Vertical seams on cups are a good way of creating lift, should you choose a non moulded option.

Here's a list of styles I know that have less fabric at the top where you don't need it- warning, the first couple are in the process of being discontinued.

Fantasie Esme and Jana

Freya Patsy half cup- there are other Freya half cups e.g. Lauren which are also worth a try

Freya Marvel

Bravissimo Purity

Cleo Maddie

Curvy Kate Thrill Me and others from the Showgirl collection

HTH Smile
