after a lovely summer of flip-flops and cheapy converse, I'm not sure what to do with my feet this winter. am thinking about leather converse with socks? not convinced. I want comfort and casual...maybe some flat boots? not really sure which way the fashion at the casual end of things is going. Interested in your thoughts :-)

I wear my converse throughout winter, on less wet days. I do wear socks with them.
I have worn knee high boots in previous years but I think I'll get some Chelsea boots this year.

dirtyprettything · 26/09/2014 15:28

still wearing my 2 pairs of ash spirals from last year - love them

helloitsme · 26/09/2014 19:07

so, moggle, does that mean you wear the converse with the winterising insoles without socks and it's still warm enough? or do you wear socks?

I always weary converse with socks, but I've had many wet feet incidents thanks to bad planning for weather ...

moggle · 26/09/2014 22:05

I always wear them with socks, I find my canvas shoes get pretty smelly if I wear then without socks Blush

I would think they'd still be a bit chilly without socks due to the eyelets at the side letting in cold air, but might be ok...

These uggs, got them last winter

Love them! Warm and waterproof, even in -15c.

busyboysmum · 27/09/2014 11:07

I've just bought these Ugg boots www.uggaustralia.co.uk/finney/1006037.html?dwvar_1006037_color=BLK#start=1&cgid=women-new-arrivals

Love them. Very very comfortable.

perfectpeach · 27/09/2014 11:15

ohhh they're lovely busyboysmum

I have ash virgins which I love. I prefer a high top style with socks. I also have two pairs of heeled ankle boots (old) and these for proper wet winter which fortunately I haven't had to wear yet...

MumbleBag · 27/09/2014 11:55

I bought some Frye Engineer 12R boots which I am going to live in this winter. On the look out for winter trainers too. Love the sound of something shearling lined.

helloitsme · 27/09/2014 15:16

love those ugg boots! and i see the point about high tops for socks. i love the ash virgins but am too stingy to pay for them. i so wish you could get them cheaper, but haven't found any....I do think they are the perfect winter trainer though....

Probably just my Docs, really need some new dressier boots

looki · 27/09/2014 15:37

Tan sheepskin converse - can you link please?

I asked a sales assistant before if the leather Converse were warm as I find the ordinary Converse make my feet actually freeze on cold days and she said that they weren't warm (or particularly suited to cold weather at all).

TheHoundsBitch · 27/09/2014 16:37

The sheepskin cons are the adult version of these, but they have a double sheepskin tongue. I got them in the office sale last year so I can't find the exact ones.

Honsepricesarecrazy · 27/09/2014 22:00

At the moment I am living in pointy flats which are perfect for this weather. Once it cools down I will be wearing black cowboyish suede ankle boots in black and light brown for casual. For work I will be wearing black suede chunky heeled Chelsea boots and for going out I will be wearing leopard skin ankle boots with a skinny mid heel and black high heeled pointy shoes with cut out sides and a strap. I've also sparkly black and brown high tops.

helloitsme · 27/09/2014 22:18

Pricesarecrazy, I like your style! I think I don't have your budget, but I wish I did :-) I've been thinking about cowboyish suede ankle boots actually, but struggling with whether to go for black or tan. Also tempted by chelsea boots, but I want to find some more dressed down ones, and still thinking about high tops. Just can't find any ash ones in my price range, so thinking about converse etc. Sparkly is appealing though....

I have black riding boots, tan knee boots and black ankle boots from last year. So far this year I have bought high burgundy ankle boots and pale tan high knee boots. Plus I expect to wear my Supergas and Converse on dry days. I'm hoping that Nike do another range of Liberty trainers, as I really really would like a pair of the Air Max ones.

OneLittleLady · 27/09/2014 22:32

I've got black leather biker boots, black leather brogue style shoes, , some black and patterned back ankle boots, converse for dry days and burgundy heeled ankle boots for going out. I have other high heels for going out in as well that are all leather

Corygal · 27/09/2014 22:49

I'm doing leather slipper shoes from & Other Stories in a navy and red, as well as the trusty Uggs.

I really want some leather Vans tho' but am too mean to pay net a porter prices.

pegster · 27/09/2014 22:57

Leopard flats & converse boots currently. Also got patent brogues & matt black biker boots from last year to break out when it eventually gets cold
