Square silk scarves that don't cost a fortune - where can I find them?

I've been on the hunt for a couple for nice drapey square silk or silk chiffon scarves, but I either can't find them in my price range (up to $100 tops) or the designs/prints are not for me.

I'm trying to avoid anything too floral, unless it's quite geometric or abstract and I dislike anything equestrian or to "traditional" (think classic Hermes-type designs).

Am I asking for too much or am I just looking in the wrong places?

Thanks!

TKMaxx - you can pick up Valentino and Moschino scarves very cheaply.

How do you wear the silk square?

coffeeinbed · 26/09/2014 19:42

Inspired by this - and because I had to cover up the décolletage on my last clean work dress - I wore a silk square I picked up in Accessorize a few years ago.

On ideas how to, look up the Liberty Channel on YouTube.
They have a lovely girl doing things with scarves I can only dream of.

My brother bought me a lovely silk geometric print scarf from Reiss a few years ago.

I wear mine like this

Aspinal of London are worth a look.

Another vote for TKMaxx.

Reporting back for anyone still interested.....I received my order from Massimo Dutti - I didn't really like the red paisley handkerchief scarf as although the colours and design were beautiful the silk was a bit too stiff and heavy. I also ordered the blue paisley silk scarf and that one was much lighter in texture so it's a keeper! Now on the look out for a chiffon/mousseline scarf!

Thanks for all the help and the recommendations - I hear TK MAXX again and again, but I'm overseas so I can't pop in and look, mores the pity!

That picture needs a big scarf though- it wouldn't look the same with a standard 60cm one.

For pieces that are unique and often made to order, look at Etsy, plenty of silk scarves there. Very affordable, most of them.
