Hat and coat combination?

Due to an immune system condition (Dermatomyositis) I need to avoid the sun. And I also really feel the cold.

During the summer I've been wearing a wide-brimmed straw hat and that's been fine.

But as we approach autumn, the straw hat is going to start looking weird. And it really doesn't work with my current winter coat (think the sort of coat you'd wear hiking the hills).

So what I need to find is a hat suitable for autumn, and a coat that goes with it, and the coat needs to be WARM. Are there any style experts who can help me please?!

Would a trilby brim be wide enough? Otherwise I'd suggest either a 70s wide brim hat with relevant coat:

Alternatively Australian hats:

Or non-straw cowboy:

Ooh I quite like the 70s style hats! What shop would you go to for them?

Topshop & Asos have them.

Another option would be a Barbour hat, which might with an existing outdoorsy type coat.

Are you after a new coat too, or just a hat to go with your current outdoorsy coat? I have an Australian-type hat like the ones Twinklestein linked for when I'm out walking, and a bright red cloche hat that goes with my wool pea coat for smarter cold days. Also really like cashmere beanies like these at Hush - they are good for smart or casual :)

Primark have a lovely felt, floppy hat 70s style, in mulberry with black trim, in store ATM. A snip at £8 and very autumnal.

Thanks Twinklestein for the leads, I'm off looking through the websites
