Are there any style blogs that aren't written by women that are stinking rich?

As per the title really.

I follow a few style blogs. I love following them all, but they all seem to be written by women that aren't short of a few quid, and who have enormous monthly clothing budgets.

Are there any that are written by someone with a low/average income?

I would have thought Susie SoSo, Glamrosie, Allwornoutblog, have fairly average budgets? DMBL40 caters for all budgets too, tho she does have quite a wardrobe. Trying to think of others.

Apatite1 · 12/09/2014 21:18

Er, they have enough money to constantly buy new clothes and pose around in them. I don't think a blog would go very far if they only bought 3 items a year. They must all have fairly healthy budgets.

ThisBitchIsResting · 12/09/2014 21:32

Susie Soso is good, she doesn't buy really cheap things but her approach to shopping is budget friendly - she decides she wants an item and considers really carefully before buying, and often customises stuff. I also just really like her style, it's simple, flattering, pretty and easily achievable.

peasandlove · 12/09/2014 21:32

dont they just take the pic them return them to the store? Grin. I seem to follow the ones who are now so 'big' their blogs are just advertisements for designers and retailers. I doubt they have bought anything themselves.

ThisBitchIsResting · 12/09/2014 21:32

I love AWO but lol at average budget!

TheBuskersDog · 13/09/2014 00:10

Agree with TheBitch, people on an average budget don't buy Shearling lined Acne Pistols.

tethersend · 13/09/2014 00:25

A lot of it is free stuff given to advertise.

MillyDots · 13/09/2014 00:41

What I like are style blogs that are about personal style. People who don't buy lots of new clothes but wear the clothes they already have and change them up on a daily basis. Much more inspiring than blogs that just go out and buy new things. Anyone can do that.

netty36 · 13/09/2014 07:02

I agree... Some of the bloggers just seem greedy and often it's the ones who do buy the most, don't look the best. I embrace bloggers who use what they have or show how an item can update what you already own.

lordnoobson · 13/09/2014 07:03

Often bloggers say "buy this at DP" then show themselves in designer. Yes you dmbl

Nightboattocairo · 13/09/2014 07:23

I read that fab40 blog but she said 'He he' so many times & I couldn't read on.

lordnoobson · 13/09/2014 07:24

Who told bloggers they have to ask the readers a q at the end?

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 13/09/2014 08:25

I'm guilty of the question at the end sometimes. I try and avoid it, but I'm going to have to be stricter w myself and totally eradicate them [takes out cane and raps self across knuckles. Twice].

lordnoobson · 13/09/2014 08:35

Lol.

Secretblackandmidnighthag · 13/09/2014 08:36

A Rosie Outlook is good, she shops a lot in asos

lordnoobson · 13/09/2014 08:38

I've just indulged in the asos delivery deal

PrimalLass · 13/09/2014 08:41

I can't look at that fab40 one because she uses so many dots in an ellipsis. It makes my eyes hurt.

JuneFromBethesda · 13/09/2014 08:43

I really like Mrs Bebe's blog. She's plus-size so a lot of the brands she writes about are also plus-size but she also buys a lot from supermarkets. She doesn't have a vast clothing budget but is clearly passionate about fashion and although I'm not plus-size myself, I find her quite inspiring - particularly since some weeks Sainsburys may be the only shop I get to so I have to make the most of what's on offer Grin

Re AllWornOut, there are some £££ things, but most things are, I think, available on an average budget. None of them are freebies, either.

INeedSomeHelp · 13/09/2014 09:09

June thank you so much for the link to the Mrs Bebe blog. I love fashion blogs but do get a bit fed up when I look at what they're wearing and find it's only available up to a size 14!

JuneFromBethesda · 13/09/2014 09:25

Glad to help! I find it rather refreshing to read a blog by someone who isn't a size 8/10/12.

toptrumps1 · 13/09/2014 10:16

I agree with MillyDots and is something I've been pondering for a while.

A STYLE blog by definition shouldn't really be about constant new/gifted purchases, but how a person wears and combines clothes they wear regularly to give lots of different looks for different occasions. I'm struggling to think of any who genuinely do that, apart from maybe the AWO girls. Obviously the wardrobe needs to be of a certain size, but it shouldn't matter where an item is from or how much it costs, if someone has a great way of putting an outfit together, it should be the "I never though of wearing it with/like that" which should be the attraction of blog, if it is genuinely about style...

Those who just post new clothes which are never seen on the blog again, or rarely, are little more that a shopping catalogue for the brand (which the brand doesn't pay for, genius). I also agree with netty36, there are some who buy loads but don't suit the half of it, and its really obvious they are showing it because its a gift, or because they think every current trend has to be covered.

AmberNectarine · 13/09/2014 11:11

Susie is really good, Eve from AWO has great style and buys a lot of high street, I like The Frugality for great high street finds too.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 13/09/2014 14:53

Nope, I don't think there are any. And the ones that maybe used to be, aren't now.

SusieSoSo probably the most sensible one of them all, but generally her stuff isn't really my style.
