Have you seen any good ones, or are they inherently naff?!

Hush has got some luscious looking taupe knee highs.

Ohh, Sofa, they are beautiful boots.

I'd never wear them, but I admire them greatly.

Haha, I know exactly what you mean, I'd be happy to just stroke them Grin

RonaldMcDonald · 10/09/2014 12:59

nope

Twinklestein · 10/09/2014 13:05

I've got a couple of pairs of beige boots, I love them.

Are you after ankle or longer?

MrsPMT · 10/09/2014 13:21

I like beige/mink cowboy style ankle boots and think they would look good with some relaxed skinny blue jeans, imo, or some skinny black jeans (if you have slim legs). They have a relaxed casual look IMO.

SofaCanary · 10/09/2014 13:28

These would be quite nice with jeans:

It depends on a couple of things:

  • Fabric - never buy suede boots. Seriously. They are like a fucking chocolate kettle. When do you wear boots? In winter when it's cold and almost certainly wet. Which fabric gets ruined by water (even if you use protector?) SUEDE.

Learn from my errors on this one. Please.

  • Shade of beige - I have a pair of boots similar to the one that someone posted above. Yes, they are suede. No, I never wear them (see reasoning above!). I think you would need to find a shade that didn't look cheap in leather (very pale beige often looks cheap even if they cost hundreds of quid).

  • The other colours that you wear - I generally don't wear much black (anymore) as it doesn't really suit me. I tend to go for shades of blue, pale grey, deep red and the like. Light chocolate brown goes well with those colours, whilst black doesn't. It's worth getting a swatch of the colour you are thinking of and seeing if it goes with the overall colour scheme of your wardrobe.

*Practicality - You have to clean lighter coloured shoes more often. The dirt shows much faster. Do you have time to clean them about three times more often than black boots?

minkah · 10/09/2014 13:32

Sofa, it's something like that, that I had in mind. (But not with bright good buckles.)

I got a dress that has lots of beige/latte in it, and thought some boots in the same shade would be a possibility.

But I've only ever had dark boots. Idk even if beige boots are practical.

The other colour in the dress is dark blue. I don't have blue boots either!

In short, idk what to wear on my feet, with this dress.

Gold..not 'good'...

Just saw your post, Kay. Agree about the looking cheap thing.
Nubuck is something I like. Doesn't have the shiny ness of leather, but much more durable than suede.

I like those Sofa but keeping them clean would definitely be a an issue.

Agree about the suede problem with rain etc, but beige leather just not nearly so appealing as suede.

SofaCanary · 10/09/2014 14:08

Beige/taupe boots can look wonderfully luxurious worn with shade of white and cream, especially in the winter.

Not very practical I know Blush

Twinklestein · 10/09/2014 14:12

Hudson do a range of beigey coloured boots.

example

minkymuskyslyoldstoaty · 10/09/2014 14:17

twinkle, omg those boots are bloody lovely.

minkah · 10/09/2014 15:16

Twinkle , those boots are very fab looking. I've never worn Hudson.

Hmmm! Thankyou!
