had enough of my fine, damaged hair

I have always had horrible hair, it's very fine, looks damaged even though I don't use straighters, I just mostly tie it back in the same boring style and I've had enough. I'd love to have fuller hair or a head full of curls or anything with any volume!! I thought extensions were not an option as I've heard they can really damage your hair and I don't have any to spare by damaging it any more. I don't think any kind of curling would work either, tried a kind of perm years ago that burnt my hair! Any miracle cures out there? I'm really in need of a confidence boost and this would really give it to me. I don't care how much it would cost.

Tying fine hair back damages it a lot and can even cause traction alopecia. I'd suggest you chop off as much as you can bear, I do it every five years or so and it makes a massive difference to the health of my hair. I also use a product, Sugar Dust or something like that, bought at my hair salon, to give it some volume at the roots.

How long is your hair? Sad to say but fine hair is often happiest in short layers. Any longer and it weighs itself down and you end up with helmet hair and no volume at all.

What you need most of all is a hairdresser who is very happy with fine hair and an appreciation that you want it to look great every day without spending 4 hours styling it.

Condition wise I am currently obsessed with L'Oreal Ever Riche for fine hair - my hair is fine and wavy and has never looked better than with this and I've used far more expensive products in the past.
