Trousers for an apple shape.

Am trying to find trousers, as suspect dress code at work is about to change. Until recently, smartish jeans have been OK, which was great with me as have a few pairs I like, and lots of hip length tops to hide fat tummy.

Am having a real problem finding trousers to work with existing wardrobe.
Am 16 bottoms, 18 top, slimmish legs and thighs but fat belly!

Jeans work well as the heavier material balances out middle section, but find that trousers can make me look out of proportion.

Skinnies don't really work unless with long boots, the pockets on Chinos make my tummy look fatter, don't know what else to try!

Also not keen on synthetic fabrics, though dont mind a bit of lycra for stretch.
Has anybody got any ideas?

Would be prepared to spend £60 or so on a pair of trousers that were flattering , non itchy and non sweaty!

Oh yes, also looking for jersey jacket but longer length ( ie bum covering). Can't find one anywhere, if anyone knows of any I'd be eternally grateful!

Does anyone else have this problem of mentally designing a perfect wardrobe then realising it doesn't exist? It happens to me regularly!

Does it need to be trousers? I'm an apple and not work trousers except jeans for years. Dresses and skirts work best for me.

I'm an apple and struggle with trousers too but I have a great jersey jacket from h&m which gives me more shape. I had to size up though

Banana republic for trousers? A range of fits, I find they flatter my curves and are smart for work

Try Land's End OP.

I am sadly thick of waist and short of leg, quite round at the middle but they do a great range of sizes of smart stuff and a lot of it is very well cut.

The non-sale prices are a little on the expensive side but they often do multi buy deals and their sales are amazing.

Jersey jackets always in stock.

Good luck finding what you're after

Jane

Thanks everyone. I do have dresses which I wear but don't want all my tops to go to waste!
Haven't tried Banana Republic - will have a look and will also check out Lands End.
Any links would be much appreciated if anyone has tried particular items.

Yy to banana republic. I'm apple shaped, too.
I like sloane fit the best myself. Good, stretchy, heavyweight fabric. Ignore the 'dry clean only', they wash fine. Lots of 'work-y' colours, and they do bright shades in the summer. The link below takes you to 'trousers by fit', scroll down for sloan

Sorry, the link doesn't work Blush

Thanks dun. Will pop into store tomorrow . thinks its always best to try trousers on before buying as most don't fit me properly! Will check out Sloan.
