Need affordable & v comfy wide fit black heels

tellmesomething · 03/09/2014 16:13

I am hosting a work event next week and would like to wear black heels. Unfortunately I'm always in sheer pain after standing in heels for an hour. Where can I get affordable comfy black heels? My feet are slightly wide. I looked at orthopaedic shoes and they are mainly flat and look grannyish. I am tall and slim so the heel doesn't need to be high but thick heels tend to look like hooves on me. Any suggestions of something I may survive standing in for 12hours?

12 hours on your feet will be hell in even flats.
How about something like THIS

Or... THESE

I second M&S wide fit
How about these?

Shesparkles · 03/09/2014 18:32

I have horrendously wide feet and am useless on heels, but have found M&S to be about the best for me, very decent price too

iwantgin · 03/09/2014 18:35

I also like M & S for wide fit smart shoes. I don't often have call to wear proper shoes, so but have had these for a couple of years.

extremely comfortable - and not quite as grannyish on the feet as they first appear. I am not sure if these are the exact same model - but if not they are very, very simiar Dolly

Next have a range of wider fit, I got a plain black pair of 2 inch stiletto heels for 35 a few weeks ago, wore them for a christening, they were great particularly when me and my dad had to wrangle a slightly drunk DM down the road

However 12 hours in any shoes would hurt - can you wear one pair, and when they start to cause any pain, switch to another?

iwantgin · 03/09/2014 18:38

I had forgotten that I bought this pair too -earlier this year for a specific event Clarks

From Clarks - also very comfy - I danced all night in them, so must have been okay.

hush puppies

Hush Puppies Mary Jane's are brilliantly comfy

They won't set the world alight but these are classic courts, dead comfy and come in a wide fit.

I second Evans being way too wide! So the options are m&s or clarks. Clarks options are so pretty

Agree that after 12 hours even in flats your feet will be aching. I hosted an event a couple of years ago and wore "comfy" heels. Was stood up about half the time from 10-5 ish. The next morning when I had to do it all again, I very nearly cried my feet hurt so much.

temporaryusername · 03/09/2014 21:55

I'd go for something with a strap, and with a not too narrow heel, more of a block or balanced heel.

That reduces the stress on the feet and legs a bit as far as keeping the shoe on and balancing yourself.

I feel for you. I used to do a job that meant standing all day, every day in heels. Absolute nightmare, shouldn't be allowed! Couldn't do it now couldn't really do it then.

Amaxapax · 03/09/2014 22:00

I really don't do heels, but I wear Clarks Chorus Hill (stupid name) for work everyday, and so do two of my colleagues! We're on our feet a lot and I find them quite comfortable. The platform means the heel height is less noticeable and the t-strap makes them more comfortable to walk in because I don't worry about my heels slipping out. They also hold up really well over time.

Amaxapax · 03/09/2014 22:02

Sorry, I meant Chorus Thrill. Still a stupid name.

tellmesomething · 03/09/2014 22:54

Oh no hermoine please don't say that it's a weekend event Hmm

Oh chorus thrill look nice. I generally don't like straps but I need to be practical. My feet feel achy right now and I've been wearing trainers all day Hmm

New Look do a wide fit range-I've had very high heels and flats from their range and both really comfy
