Can't get to hairdresser, need stylish hair

DH and I are going out to a concert tomorrow night. Somewhere in my head I thought I'd manage to get to the hairdresser. But that was never an option so I don't know where I got that idea.

I'm dreadful at doing things with my hair, but I really feel I need it to look nice, so any ideas would be great.

It's dark, just past my shoulders, wavy with a few layers. It looks fantastic blow dried straight but I'm completely incapable of doing it myself. It also looks great dried in a plait and then let out into waves - for about 3 seconds until there's a tiny breeze or a bit of damp, at which point it turns into a fuzzy tangly mess.

My default hairstyle is a bun.

I have various pins, clips and hairspray. I could probably swing by somewhere to pick up extra products if needed. I will be able to wash my hair tomorrow morning and put it in a plait to dry, but that is all I will have time for until about 4pm. And we leave the house at 5.30.

Does anyone have any ideas what I should do with my hair? This concert is a massive deal for DH (childhood heroes) and we don't get out a lot, so I wanted to make a real effort, but somehow the time got away from me.

You know rocky, that's what I would have thought. But it really was Queen. Perhaps not for the purists, but Brian May and Roger Taylor were amazing, and Adam Lambert pitched it just right between being inspired by Freddie, not turning into a parody and being himself. And Roger Taylor did a drumming duet with his son.

I would have been a lot less impressed if Lambert had tried to be Mercury.

Anyway, my feet are sore, my voice is gone and I have the best music on repeat in my head Grin

Is John Deacon still sulking and refusing to get involved then? I do love love love Queen but I wish Brian May would accept defeat and cut his hair!!

I love Brian May's hair! It matches his wife's Grin

I have got the babyliss Big Hair and I find when I try and use it it tries to curl the opposite way to the one I am trying to go. Any tips to getting it set up before it touches my hair

There are 2 rectangular buttons next to the on/off button - one makes it spin clockwise, the other anti clockwise

I think the official explanation is "retired" rocky Grin

Do you start the clockwise anti clockwise button before you start on your hair.
