Clothes for older women?

I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for online clothes shops aimed at older women? It's for my mum, 70, who has just returned from about 40 years in very hot countries overseas and needs an autumn wardrobe. She is a size 16 and wants to wear comfy dresses/tunics over leggings/tights/cardigan etc type stuff - the 'layered' look as she calls it :) I've suggested a few sites but she complains all the models on the sites seem to be in their 20s!

ps she has already tried M&S/BHS etc. She wouldn't really do Zara type places on the high street as cannot stand the noise from the music....

Young models galore for clothing aimed at fifty plus!

Sandwich do the layered look well.

Thanks! I noticed that about the fiftyplus site and thought how odd that they didn't use older models...

Im a great lover of Sandwich Clothing.

What about Fat Face and White stuff? Tell her to go and try stuff on in the shops and forget about models!

www.mistral-online.com
And
www.seasaltcornwall.co.uk/m
Both better quality than White Stuff in my experience.

ElephantsNeverForgive · 02/09/2014 11:12

Both are stocked on the high street, often in smaller shops in nice market towns (eg. Stroud and Ledbury for Seasalt)

Gudrun Sjoden uses older models and her collections are all based around layering. Bit spendy though.... I use eBay

I use ebay too Lapsed. I get wonderful clothes for next to nothing sometimes.

My DM is much older than yours and she's found lots of things from The White Company, Toast, DKNY, Hobbs and Cos that look wonderful. But she also shops from the more exciting online "designery" places too. (Loves a bargain!) Totally swerves M&S nowadays.

She also spent many years in tropical climates and it's not an easy adjustment. But she would lie down and die rather than shop from anywhere specifically aimed at "older women". There's absolutely no need.

Sorry OP I appear to have killed your thread.Sad

I'm sure other people have more useful less ranty suggestions.
