enid - you need both kinds of boot - go on, treat yourself

I still have the Boden coat but it's not a winter one really - it's thin and it's more dressy or summery.

I'd get some really nice trendy jeans and probably some new knee length boots.

wartywarthog · 23/09/2006 13:32

farraday - wow! amazing clothes. pity you can't buy online.

Enid · 23/09/2006 14:08

I would NEVER spend £150 on sunglasses even if I had the money

unless they were prescription ones

OH bought me some Prada sunglasses & now all the cheaper ones just feel uncomfortable. Having said that they have lasted for 3 years now, whereas before that I was buying 1-2 cheap pairs a year due to them breaking so it hasn't really worked out much more expensive.

I do have a cheap pair for running but they sometimes fall off so need to be cheap. I did wear the expensive ones in the pool in Spain though.

The label doesn't really bother me as my hair covers that up, it's more how they look & fit & these were the best fit at the time.

expatinscotland · 23/09/2006 22:48

I wouldn't spend £150 on sunglasses, either.

I'd buy them in the States for half the money.

puff · 23/09/2006 22:50

Boots, shoes or a handbag, probably Russell & Bromley

Blondilocks · 23/09/2006 22:57

Now there's a thought. Next time he could give my plane tickets to NY so I could choose some myself for half the price!!

Really don't see what the big deal is though. Everyone has treats/gifts sometimes.

expatinscotland · 23/09/2006 22:59

Europe has them cheaper, too, Blondy. Good excuse for a little holiday, too.

If I had £200 to spend on clothes, however, I'd get a couple of pairs of smart wool trousers.

Blondilocks · 23/09/2006 23:02

Probably just get OH to pick some up on one of his trips.

Does anyone hide their purchases from their OHs? Does this happen in RL of just in books? I know a few people who have passed new things off as "old" things & got away with it. Just curious.

expatinscotland · 23/09/2006 23:02

My sister hides things.

I don't.

Blondilocks · 23/09/2006 23:06

I don't either, only if it's a present for him!

Lilliput · 23/09/2006 23:07

I wore a new jacket yesterday and I could see dh looking at me like he wasn't sure if he had seen the jacket before and should he say anything. Quite funny really. I have a bag at the back of the wardrobe at the mo, just waiting for the weather to be a bit cooler to get the new stuff out. "I bought ot on ebay for next to nothing" is usually what I say.

expatinscotland · 23/09/2006 23:09

My sister goes to great lengths to hide things.

BUT, she is a bit of a clothes horse and she's got an Imedla Marcos streak a mile wide.

archiesmummy · 23/09/2006 23:36

Oh yes, I do hide, or rather not mention them. I often don't tell him the full price. Strange, coz he is so honest with me

suzywong · 23/09/2006 23:40

what serendipity!
I DO have 200 notes to spend on myself, well 196 actuall - that's 500 AUD, and I 'm going to doing it on Tuesday and boots are top of my list, can anyone help me cut my shopping time down and post me some nice links please
