Which brand would you recommend for a wedding day makeover?
I'm 32, blonde hair, fair. Like the natural look.

Bobbi Brown.

Yes Bobbi Brown is all about the natural look.

Might depend on your skin? Bobbi Brown has never suited mine.
I'd be tempted to go with MAC for a wedding makeover (not a MAC fan usually but it generally photographs well).
Consider also Dior and Laura Mercier.

Everyone I know who has had their make up done at MAC comes out looking like a drag queen or a whore at the docks.

Not the most PC comparisons, but it's just true. The make up people in MAC seem to go for the approach of "the more make up the better".

I would personally recommend Laura Mercier. It's bloody expensive, but the make up is the best quality I have found, and it's super elegant. They excel in the natural look as far as I am concerned.

I've had my make-up done at MAC and specifically asked for a natural look. I'm quite pale and blonde and it was definitely not over the top (although much more than I'd usually wear). They did insist on fake eyelashes though! It really did look great in the photos that were taken which is the reason I suggested it - and it lasted all night!!

I actually had my make up done at Mac for my birthday and can confirm I did look like a drag queen.

Never tried Laura M - will def give it a try.

I've always been happy with Mac - and have never come out looking like a drag queen (IMO anyway). My experience is that they are really good at listening to what I want and not going overboard. I've always been told that they have makeup artists in their shops, which isn't really the case for many other brands IME.

I don't personally like Bobbi Brown's products - the foundations are terribly yellow and their other products just don't really work on me.

Laura Mercier have great products. I've had great help from their staff in the past. I'd happily go there again - and would happily pay for it.

I am a big fan of Elizabeth Arden make up (and had that for my wedding). The foundation especially is amazing and the eye shadow and the... well all of it really!

How about Lancome? It always looks beautiful - anyone use it?
