What do I wear over the top of this dress (wedding in Scotland, brrrrr)

I've bought this dress but in nude: www.riverisland.com/women/dresses/peplum-dresses/Pink-asymmetric-frill-peplum-dress-658148

For a wedding in September, on Loch Lomund. I'm going to freeze unless I can find a jacket/coat/shawl of some description to fit over that bloody enormous shoulder ruffle - I've tried it with a pashmina but the 80s power suit/floaty scarf combo just looks a bit odd. Can anyone point me a better direction?

boy are there some grim wrap things out there

EliandmE · 28/08/2014 23:08

Are you looking at the ones with faces Familiessharegerms? Because I now can't stop looking at the ones with faces. There's a ferret stole on eBay (ending soon) which is truly grim. This is distracting me from the task at end. But it's got feet and eyes!

Throw in a Tunnocks teacake hat and I'm in!

A nice warm duffle coat! You'll catch a cold in that! Grin

Faces, pom poms, "shimmer thread".....

Lucked · 28/08/2014 23:54

I actually think the tartan shawl (in the pink) that myfirstname linked to on page 1 is the way to go.

Lucked · 28/08/2014 23:58

Is it going to soak up the rain like wet suit material?

RosieLig · 29/08/2014 12:36

I really feel the cold hence my question! It was 4c here in Edinburgh on Wednesday morning! I think a fur stole type thing is your best bet as if will be heavy enough to not show up any bumps from the dress. Do any friends have one you can borrow?

SWIMTHECHANNEL · 29/08/2014 12:44

If you're staying at the hotel, you could change between ceremony and reception (save you hanging around while interminable photos are taken).

It really isnt that cold in Scotland atm. Its just wet!
