I've never been to one and don't know where to start. I need to find a fantastic dress but i don't know what the rules are.

Not really got a clue - never been to one either!

If dancing is involved I reckon a dress that is either long or full (not both) is a good idea, so either something full-length and slinky (no slit though) or something shorter and prom-dress shaped.
Dancing in a short fitted dress looks weird unless you're Darcy Bussell and a long full dress will make you look like a bridesmaid...

I am very aware that if done wrong i will look like Daffyd from little britain.

I have no idea Mrs Badger which of those types would suit me the most. I think i probably have to go through the mortification of trying them on while having hot flushes.

pmsl re Daffyd - sure we can do better than that... What are the men wearing? Is it black tie?

fairyfly · 21/09/2006 08:41

It doesn't say it's black tie.

No idea, when i have sorted myself out i have to then sort him out. We are both clueless.

Got to go now, imagine Daffyds stomach and tell me what suits, size 14 but protruding belly.
