Good moisturiser for late 40's skin

Hi, I am looking for a moisturiser, budget up to about 40 pounds, I am 47 and have pretty good skin but want something to brighten my complexion and make me look a bit fresher. I hate anything heavy/oily so would prefer something with the texture of a serum. Any suggestions? Thanks! Also, my decolletage is looking a bit crepey - I am big of boob so this area is under some stress! Any ideas for decent neck/bust cream, not too pricey. Ta.

same moisturiser as for any other age group.

no such thing as magic cream for neck/boobs - all your skin is the same and no cream reverses damage. The important thing is sunscreen when this area is exposed as it is fully in the line of fire.

QVC do some good kits of skin care (and the 30 Day Money Back Guarantee)

Decleor (there's a Todays Special Value today - it is £60 + p&p but you get cleansing mousse, day cream, serum and decollete/neck cream)

Or there's Gatineau ( I have used some, but at the moment it's too heavy for me)

Elemis

Try the kits, you can get a few products to try out and then pick what works for you.

I think the best product I've used in a very long time is Lush's Full of Grace serum bar.

At that price point you could consider Olay regenerist. I'd reccomend Indeed labs Hydraluron. Both at boots.

Boots currently has 1/3 off some Indeed Labs products, both online and in-store.
There's the Hydraluron Moisture Booster which is a serum, but they also have a jelly type moisturiser. I've heard good things about the products, but haven't tried them yet.

I'd recommend getting a moisturiser that works for your skin type. If you're happier with a moisturising serum, then that's fine as well. I've been using a serum only for ages and my skin is perfectly fine :)

You might also be happy getting an acid toner to exfoliate the skin gently. I like the Glow Tonic from Pixi.

Retinol (Indeed Labs has one, but not sure it's included in the Boots offer) is also worth considering. You can read about it here: www.carolinehirons.com/2014/08/beauty-myth-no-9-you-cant-use-retinols.html
I haven't tried retinol myself, so I don't have any personal experiences to share.

You can use your face products on your neck and decolletage - or just use a good moisturiser for the body. But make sure to use SPF on there as well - it's not too late, even if damage has already been done :)

Steamcream is really good for making skin look more radiant!

I normally use Clarins, but I'm currently trying Waitrose Pure (?) at £1.99 a tub - see how I get on!! Grin
