Designer jeans for size 14/16, do they exist?

Is this possible? I've never had a pair of decent jeans and would absolutely love a pair of quality jeans that look good on. Finally in a position to push the boat out a bit and buy some but not sure if my size 14/16 bum and thighs will allow?

Am thinking I might just present myself in a shop and ask if they might have anything that would fit and look good but any tips from any of the stylish amongst you?

Am 5'6 and currently weigh 12 stone. Some recent running has me a little toned but I have a way to go.

Was going to hold off until in a bit better shape but got a London club night out on the horizon and want to go in a different style to my usual 40 year old frump mum.

In my opinion 'designer' jeans ain't all that. I've had better shape/more flattering ones from Gap's long and lean range. I do have some 7 for all mankind ones that I bought on-line after reading rave reviews on MN, but they still aren't as flattering as my Gaps and give me shocking muffin top (too low rise).

I reckon the way to go is take yourself off to biggest shopping centre near you and try on pairs in every single shop (if you can bear the aggro). You will find one pair that stands out above the rest that fits your body and your shape. Label could be any make.

I'm about the same size as you and can fit into anything between a waist 30-32 in Levi's slight curve jeans. If there's a store near you pop in and ask them to assess your body shape and go from there. They usually retail between £60-90 in store, are cheaper on eBay, but the denim washes differ hugely in sizing - I.e. the black has less elastane and is therefore smaller.

I'm a size 14 16 at the moment and I wear various pairs of Hudson jeans in a 32 and J Brand boyfriend jeans in a 31 and 32.

My problem with jeans is getting my calf muscles in the leg! I have very muscly calf muscles from a lifetime of sport (unfortunately thighs are wobbly). I 'm a 12/14 and just can not get my legs into skinny jeans. Can just about do Next slim leg, but don't really like any of the indigo ones they have at the moment.

Anyone recommend any stretchy straight/slim jeans? I've also got some Gap Real Straight, but too tight on the calf to move properly in.

J Brand are really stretchy, particularly the Photo Ready fabric ones (which use some kind of witchcraft, they magically don't go baggy at the knee). I'm a fairly curvy size 12/14 with what I'd euphemistically call fine sturdy legs and their skinny styles fit me fine. Not cheap but very comfy/flattering.
