You need this top from Cos

www.cosstores.com/nl/Shop/Women/Tops/Crossover_A-line_top/46885-17575533.1#c-22755

It's so so so flattering and lovely and easy dress up or down and basically I'm living in it. It says dry clean only but I have cold washed it and it's fine.

I don't often post here but have been compelled to as this top is just so brilliant.

I'm a classic pear. Massive legs. It looks good.

It sort of drapes and collects nicely.

Anyway, I'm going to stop flogging it now! It looked good on me and I was pleased cos it can be a struggle. Just wanted to share.

I bought my first Cos top from Kingston (I live in da hood) last week.
Sort of fifties style neckline.
Can't decide if I look edgy or frumpy.

If it was flowered it'd be less Chairman Mao and more 1970's dinner lady.

Onesleeptillwembley · 22/08/2014 12:56

Sorry, posted too soon.
Neither of which are looks I strive to achieve.

Amrapaali · 22/08/2014 13:13

I can see how it will drape nicely. The material looks good on the enlarged photos. But personally I would go for something fitted underneath like a long sleeved yellow jumper.

A bit pricey though. I picked up a couple of Italian numbers yesterday at TK Maxx for a fiver each. Soft, slinky- granted they are viscose, but still...

DidoTheDodo · 22/08/2014 13:24

May I just say poor OP! She brings us something that really suits her and we all have an argument as to why it won't suit us! Glad it looks good on you OP!! :)

Amrapaali · 22/08/2014 13:36

I know!! I think Boysclothes is sitting there slack-jawed thinking, "Are these nutters for real?!" Grin

Boysclothes · 22/08/2014 13:39

Actually I am Amra! Obviously not everyone will like it and it wouldn't look great in everyone but to told its hideous, frumpy, fattening, chairman Mao, dinner lady.... It's made me feel a bit shit tbh.

OP posts:
Chewbecca · 22/08/2014 13:43

I believe you that you look good in it! Don't feel shit.

I suspect the naysayers have never seen Cos clothes in real life. They are (generally) lovely and very stylish.

Chewbecca · 22/08/2014 13:44

& I love reading recs on here for flattering tops.

temporaryusername · 22/08/2014 13:52

I can see how it could look really good on the right shape. The models are too thin to do anything other than let it hang really, so you can't see how it would fall over a curvier shape. Don't worry Boys it is not Chairman Mao or dinner ladies at all Confused and I did Chairman Mao at GCSE and had dinner ladies

mrssmith79 · 22/08/2014 13:53

Mmmm. It's a bit 'utilitarian'. Then again it might be lovely on, I am firmly in the 'not what you wear but how you wear it' camp.

DidoTheDodo · 22/08/2014 14:19

Oh OP, I posted my new favourite dress on here to ask for a few styling tips and was told I might look a bit "Wee Willie Winkie"

I care not...I still love it!

wtffgs · 22/08/2014 14:35

Think it looks like the Kim Il Sung diffusion range - sorry!

I'm glad it does look good on you, maybe I'm wrong about the pear shapes, especially if it drapes. I have never been brave enoigh to post a pic of clothes I like, so I take my hat off to you for that!

Lucked · 22/08/2014 15:41

I have pinned it and am going to give it a try on my massive back to work shopping trip. At least it isn't a round neck like everything else in cos. I think most things on the cos website look utilitarian but I am willing to give it a go as the models aren't really styled.
