Or will she get picked on?

Dd1 is almost 11 and going into year 6, she needs a new bag but can't find anything she likes, she hates girly things and is very geeky Smile, she acts quite young for her age and would happily wear a bag with a character on but I'm trying to find her something not so babyish. She loves space so would probably love this but would she get laughed at?

Sorry if I'm being a bit silly, dd1 has Aspergers and often gets picked on so I don't want to make her wear a backpack that people may laugh at ( hope that makes sense ).

Looks cool to me in a 'big bang theory' kind of way. However I'm over 30 so not sure I'm down with the kids kind of way

Kids who make fun of others will probably do so no matter what the backpack is!

Personally, I'd go for something plain black or blue if she doesnt want to draw attention.

I'm 22 and I think it's pretty cool no idea if that's helpful or not
It wouldn't have been out of place at all at my senior school..

I teach in a secondary school and lots of kids have those back packs. I saw them for sale at the science museum for double the price,so go for it!

Thank you, I think she will like it ( she's at a friends house at the moment so can't ask her ), it doesn't stand out too much. If I let her she would probably wear her giant pikachu plush back pack to school. She doesn't really care about being like everyone else, it's more me that worries about her drawing attention to herself.

I work in a primary school (and I have a dd with AS) and I really can't imagine it being an issue. In Year 6 they're pretty much still experimenting and there are all kinds of bags.

I suppose you get the 'super cool girls' who all carry a particular style but plenty don't.
