My dear friend has died. I am at a bit of a standstill.
He appreciated very stylish to the point of ridiculous for himself and others.
I just can't think straight.

I am about 5'10 really a sz10 but depending can take anything from a 10-14 due to tittage.
My legs are good and beloved by my friend. I can spend up to £500.

I know that this might seem shallow. I am.

I am so sorry. Do you think his service might have a theme? If so, perhaps wait till the details are announced.

PacificDogwood · 16/08/2014 17:55

So sorry for your loss, Ronald.

I know this is Pepperberry but I like it - I wore it to DMiL's funeral recently. I felt comfortable and stylish without having to think about it much IYKWIM.

I hope the day goes as well as things things can go.

Floisme · 16/08/2014 17:59

I'm very sorry Thanks I think this is your last chance to do something for him if you see what I mean so, if you were close then I would wear something that he would have liked even if it's not strictly funereal. That's what I hope people will do for me.

Onesleeptillwembley · 16/08/2014 18:01

What Flo said - dress for him.
Sorry for your loss.

RonaldMcDonald · 16/08/2014 18:02

I know it sounds odd. To think of how he would have wanted us to be or look. Maybe I'm thinking a bit strangely about it all.
Dunno

I'm unsure if a theme is the appropriate term but I get what you mean expat and you are right
It is all a bit crap

We have been told to turn up at a certain time and place and to later expect to take part in an all night celebration of his life
We were asked to dress appropriately; Fabulously, as if you need to ask

Ah. Fabulous.

Go all out vintage Pucci or something?
I presume black is NOT on the agenda with that brief.

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 16/08/2014 18:09

I'm sorry for your loss.

If stylish and black is what you think you'll be going for, Joseph Ribkoff is probably worth a look. Things like this, this or this might be suitable?

Floop · 16/08/2014 18:09

Dress for him, absolutely.

Net a Porter has some lovely, chic and very high fashion black dresses at the minute. I'm a huge Vivienne Westwood fan - but there's plenty online.

Sorry, x-posted there (wrote my message and the didn't actually post it). I'll have a think.

RonaldMcDonald · 16/08/2014 18:44

Have called his partner to discuss.

He feels that a feather capelet thing that I own and he adored must feature...lots of lofty big bird japes to recall

I am thinking plus a leather dress from an age ago
