Semi permanent hair dye my arse!

Dd used a semi permanent dark cherry dye at Easter

She's now got some major roots and its faded to a lovely gingery shade -not!

We need to sort it out before she goes back to school

I'm considering colour B4 but don't want it to go even more ginger!

I could put a semi permanent brown over the top but browns tend to end up much darker than the box!

She wants to bleach it but I've said no to that option!

How do I fix it?

Her hair is half way down her back and she wouldn't tolerate colour at the hairdressers due to sensory issues

What colour is her hair naturally? The only way to use brown dye is to get a shade at least 2 shades lighter than the one you want to achieve and to do a strand test before you put it on to work out the right development time for the colour you want to get. The shade would also depend a lot on how her hair takes the dye, ie: if she has particularly porous hair. Is it being in the hairdressers itself the problem or would it be actually having the colour put on? if it's the hairdressing environment itself not the process of dying, could you consider a mobile hairdresser coming to your home to do it?

Try Head and Shoulders with Vitamin C

(Years ago I used a Vit C treatment to take out a permanent dye that was a residue)

Crush the tablets to powder, add to the H&S. Wash, and leave it in. Repeat (a couple of times) deep condition.

Make a hair mask out of crushed vitamin C tablets, great for stripping dye out of hair. Google it

It's the noise plus being touched -she can cope with me doing it but has never managed to have her hair washed at the hairdressers or blown dry -she arrives and leaves with wet hair

Her hair is naturally a light ash brown so I'd probably be looking at the darker blonde dyes but want to stay away from permanent if I can

Will google the vit c mask, thank you, fingers crossed
