I've not tried the no7 one but it is meant to be really good. I do believe they work. A serum isn't a moisturiser though, you need to apply it and then moisturise as normal. Serums have smaller molecules so can penetrate the skin, whereas a moisturiser just sits on top more, so they are better at getting nutrients in.

Interested to see what it will do

Will keep up with moisturiser - will it make me look young?!

I think they're a scam to get you to buy two products instead of one.
Just my personal opinion Smile

They do spout that smaller molecule stuff, but like Floisme, I am doubtful. I suppose some have Vit C but that is so unstable, in a bottle on a shelf for months, as to be near useless by the time it reaches your face. They are generally v light so therefore suitable for oily skins, and they wouldn't need a separate moisturiser.

Sunscreen sunscreen sunscreen.

The No7 protect and perfect serum isn't a moisturiser. It is supposed to help fine lines look reduced.
I have the protect and perfect advanced serum (the new one) and it doesn't moisturise my skin at all (and I'm not sure it does anything to reduce my fine lines).
To me, it feels like a silicone primer such as the Maybelline Baby Skin - but I did count 4 different -cones on the No7 ingredient list, so it's not surprising.

You can get moisturising serums and they are fine to use under or instead of a moisturiser. You can also get serums that do other things for your skin.

I'm currently using a moisturising serum instead of a 'proper' moisturiser. It's perfectly fine for my skin as most 'proper' moisturisers seem to be a bit too much for my skin, causing breakouts and a really greasy T-zone during the day.
I'm currently using the Aesop Parsley Seed serum - so far it has lasted me over 6 months of daily use and I've only used a third of the bottle.

A lot of serums contain glycerin, which has no oil yet acts as a moisturiser. Same goes for urea based ones. So that is why I say oilier skins may not need a moisturiser as well as a serum. Doesn't matter what it's called. Either is often fine.
