Waterproof Mascara Remover

hollyisalovelyname · 10/08/2014 10:59

I'm looking for a waterproof mascara remover that doesn't leave you half blinded and unable to read in bed Smile
I have the Pure one and it leaves my eyes really irritated.
My usual Garnier one, which is brilliant for sensitive eyes, does not remove waterproof mascara Hmm
Any suggestions please for a NON IRRITATING WATERPROOF MASCARA REMOVER.
Probably doesn't exist.

doesnt everyone just say baby oil?

Cereal0ffender · 10/08/2014 11:02

Have you tried tubing mascara ? It is waterproof but can be removed with hot water

MrsDavidBowie · 10/08/2014 11:06

I use Nivea double effects

AtlanticDrift · 10/08/2014 11:08

I got a lancome one as a sample and then bought it. It doesnt effect my eyes at all but removes everything

gennibugs · 10/08/2014 11:10

The Clarins one is my favourite.

The new body shop camomile one has been getting rave reviews and is apparently a much cheaper alternative to the clarins.

I use Clinique Take the Day Off.

auldspinster · 10/08/2014 13:36

I use the l'oreal bi-phase remover, shifts the most stubborn waterproof make up.

tethersend · 10/08/2014 14:28

The best, gentlest eye make up remover is Olay.

It's a cream, non oily, cheap and bloody fantastic.

It laughs in the face of waterproof mascara.

Dustypeas · 10/08/2014 14:40

I've just bought a clinique waterproof mascara that you remove with warm water - sounds weird but it actually works- it stays put all day and looks really good.

hollyisalovelyname · 10/08/2014 15:12

Tethersend thank you.
It's the oil in remover that blurs my vision leaving a 'film' on my eye...that is why I wanted a non oily waterproof mascara remover.
I don't want to buy a new mascara.

But tubing mascara is fascinating to remove, it comes off like spider legs

hollyisalovelyname · 11/08/2014 10:50

Is the Lancome eye make up remover that you shake to mix, oily?

OP posts:
TomatoSorbetWoman · 11/08/2014 15:24

Yup I use the micellar water. Dunno of if works on waterproof as I only use it on holidays

TomatoSorbetWoman · 11/08/2014 15:24

Do you need waterproof all the time?

SunnyUpNorth · 11/08/2014 15:43

I just bought a new garnier one. It is one that you shake to mix but it isn't too oily, it actually states on the bottle that it shouldn't leave an oily feel. It is quite good.

hollyisalovelyname · 11/08/2014 17:23

Thanks Sunny. I saw it in Boots yesterday but was afraid it was too oily.

The Micelkar didn't work on it

Body shop camomile - shifts waterproof mascara really easily and doesn't make my eyes sting. Honestly it's fab and doesn't leave horrid oily residue. I am fast becoming a Body shop convert.....

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 11/08/2014 18:43

Nivea do a really good one that you shake first, non oily and I can read in bed afterwardsGrin

hollyisalovelyname · 11/08/2014 20:28

Thanks Dame and wasabit

I'll second tethersend - I've used the olay one for years. It works and is cheap

lisaloulou84 · 11/08/2014 21:29

Benefit just brought out one to remove their 'they're real' mascara which is a total bitch to get off (it survived labour and 4 days in hospital!) but the remover gets it off so easily, no irritation. Would work well on other brands I'm sure, and they had testers in store.

hollyisalovelyname · 12/08/2014 08:40

Thank you.

Bodyshop camomile waterproof eye and lip make up remover is brilliant. Shifts everything and doesn't sting.

Plus, they often run offers with 40% off so cheap as chips.
