Very pleased to hear it's not greeny black these days :)
I shall try again after twenty years of greeny black trauma!
This could save me a fortuneGrin

lurkingaround · 17/08/2014 00:34

Well as long as it wasn't Merlot...

Coddo · 17/08/2014 03:24

Sadly not much!!

ilovekittycats · 17/08/2014 09:04

For anyone wanting to have a go, I just read on a "deals" website that this Dylon Velvet Soft? or whatever it is called is on sale at Co-Op for £1.35. Sadly I do not have one near me!

Redtartanshoes · 17/08/2014 09:09

Been lurking, am loving the chat.

Helpful tip, colour catcher sheets for subsequent washes if you are concerned about the colour running

BelindaAllWorkedOut · 17/08/2014 10:42

Anyone found an online cheap supply of Dylon? I have a habit to feed.

manofsponge · 17/08/2014 12:23

Shit. Velvet black is five quid at waitrose. I'm two packs down

manofsponge · 17/08/2014 12:25

You have to look closely it's the machine one I think. I have one more pair of trews to do. And maybe my topshop baxters

manofsponge · 17/08/2014 16:22

Back from the 'trose with my THIRD pack.

OOooh... I've spent this morning sorting out all my jeans (discovered I own 19 pairs Blush I've shoved all the rough looking faded dark grey that should be black ones in charity bag. Think I'll dig the best fitting ones out and dye them. Ditto 2 pairs of black work trousers where the crease down the front has faded to white.

fluffyfanjo · 17/08/2014 16:47

Its also great for faded black T shirts and vest tops - brings the up looking like new.

CointreauVersial · 17/08/2014 17:33

Update - my black viscose jersey harems are now dry, and the previously-white stripe has come out a dark indigo rather than jet black. So it's still visible against the black of the trousers, but actually looks quite nice. Subtle, like.

I did the dye-stirring with an old black plastic cooking spoon, which was a bit grey around the edges. That came up splendidly. Grin

manofsponge · 17/08/2014 18:33

Lol. I've down two loads in machine of normal clothes. No staining

manofsponge · 17/08/2014 18:33

Anyone else dyed apart from me and cv

MissBeehiving · 17/08/2014 20:30

Ooh, I dyed some navy stuff navy and added my boys white t shirts (new but with the ubiquitous food stains down the front) and some white towels which were no longer really white. They came up lovely, they did Smile

manofsponge · 17/08/2014 22:46

Not with black velvet tho
