Style these shorts for a fancy night out, please

These Banana Republic ones (on phone so I hope that works). I'm 5ft2, 10/12 (shorts are a very comfy 12), dark hair, pale skin, 35, mum tum. Boobs are big, 34dd, and I'd prefer to avoid strappy tops. Dinner will be with some lovely, very fashionable and skinny friends. It's my first proper night out since my inner skinny chick ate her way out, so I want to look young, current and good.

Definitely heels and some jewellery.

(Can't help but ask if you've seen any of the bra threads as it's highly unlikely that you are a 34 if you're a 10/12).

Thanks, Sorrel. I'm a diligent reader of the bra interventionists, but it seems I have a weirdly big rib cage. I forced myself into a 32e recently and could just about breathe until the hooks popped off!

I wonder whether the 32 was too tight because the cup was too small? What do you measure? Honestly? 32DD isn't really a big chest so I suspect you do need a bigger cup size.

Woo hoo, my very own intervention . I measure 32/39 but my boobs are very saggy and all of the fleshyness is underneath, so by the time I've scooped, it knocks a couple of inches off! I'm not in the UK and there are very few decent bra shop options around, but I've found one line that lifts, separates and leaves a good line under clothes.

That sounds good to me.

Id suggest trying a 32F which is a cup big than your 34DD bras. You will find the smallest brand will help with support and lift. I'd stick with balconette styles if you are more bottom heavy.

floppy plain top - maybe with some lace/crochet trim - topshop do these

I am exactly same height and proportions as you. I like dressing up my shorts (similar but black) with a really loose billowy sleeved blouse with a bright and busy pattern. I find the contrast really works and it shows off your legs. I don't do heels so flat but pretty sandals work fine.

FruitBasedDrinkForALady · 10/08/2014 21:23

Would something like this be what you mean, BadDog?
33 I've never done colour or patterns, so any suggestions would be brilliant! Would this be bonkers?

Pretty

33goingon64 · 11/08/2014 20:52

I think that's too fitted. I mean really loose. If you don't do bold patterns how about this www.camaieu.com/F-10012-shirts/P-11782-loose-fitting-patterned-blouse.html

FruitBasedDrinkForALady · 11/08/2014 22:13

Gotcha, I'm sure I can find something in that style. Thanks 33.
