Vaseline essential moisture bought at home bargains. Impressed as I find it almost as good as Aveeno.

Was a MN recc on another thread.

What have you bought recently that's impressed you?

Chanel Les Beiges healthy glow make up. Makes me look a lot perkier.

Clarins 3-dot eyeliner - easy to apply even for cack-handed me.

I also bought the Collection 2000 concealer as recommended by MN and I fully agree that it is fab.

Very late to the party but OPI nail varnish, bought some at the airport, as I'd heard people raving about it one here. Applied it on hols, wow I'm never using anything else again. it remained chip free for a week and through pure laziness I applied another coat on top and it's still going strong 2 weeks on. This didn't even happen with gel nails. I'm now an OPI convert.

Moo Goo body wash and MSM cream has soothed my vile pregnancy skin and stopped it breaking out into itchy sores. DD has had eczema since birth and it seem to have cleared it completely.

Friends tell me the scalp cream just makes cradle cap evaporate too.

Thumbs up:

L'Oreal Everriche Nourishing and Flowing Shampoo and Conditioner. My very fine wavy hair has never looked better

No 7 Stay Perfect mascara - recommended on here, waterproof, smudge proof, brilliant.

Cetaphil cleanser - cheap, gentle, my skin loves it and the spots halved in number just by using this.

Not sure:

Clinique Chubby sticks - another recommendation here, thought I would like them as generally new to makeup but think I need to ask for longer lasting and more pigmented recommendations. Constant reapplication is driving me nuts. However they are useful as a blush.

Thumbs down:

Clinique Airbrush Concealer - Lisa Eldridge uses it under eyes all the time. My dark circles were just as dark after.

LondonRocks · 06/08/2014 19:33

Nails Inc gel style nail polish - brilliant.

Vaseline! I dab a bit on my dry patches and it's sorted out my eyebrows that had been plucked unevenly. Wonderful.

Ohwhatfuckeryisthis · 06/08/2014 19:39

Lidl perfume-Madame glamour-bloody lovely (quote from dh, who only likes me in Guerlain and Marc Jacobs)
Clinique anti redness powder-light, does the job and looks good even on bare skin. No 17 pwooar paint-it's great.

madmomma · 06/08/2014 20:18

Had a very expensive trip to the chanel counter and am bloody thrilled with all of it. Got the les beiges powder, a concealer, a cream eyeshadow, a brown mascara and eyeliner, a blusher called malice and 2 lipsticks plus liner. I'm a make-up addict and have drawers full of high end stuff, but this is my new face and it's the first time I've been true to one brand. Shan't bother with their skincare though.

Recent wash-outs are:
thisworks leg oil - overpriced, no better than baby oil and the smell is too strong
that ysl serum in the lilac bottle - just blah and sent me back to EL's ANR

lurkingaround · 06/08/2014 20:22

Chanel les beiges' all in one'. Really like it for summer. This is it

ShutTheFuckUpBarbara · 06/08/2014 20:37

I am a new convert to Bourjois 123 cc cream too after several posters recommended it on here.

Alpha h liquid gold is another product I wouldn't be without now (also a MN recommendation)

Urban decay naked palette.

Chanel eyebrow powder

Shonajay · 06/08/2014 21:14

Coconut oil, Estée Lauder light bb 30spf foundation, avon gel liner pens, and l'oreal nude ballet lip gloss- the ONLY gloss that doesn't dry my lips out.

michellestub1965 · 06/08/2014 21:44

Almond oil for your nails £1 for 100mls at Wilkinsons a bargain. Also available at super drug ask at the pharmacy

MellieFitz · 06/08/2014 21:47

ihatethecold

It's this

Usually £58 through dermalogica website but cheaper here.

MellieFitz · 06/08/2014 21:49

Oh but has vitamin a and retinol in it so best not to use if pregnant or breastfeeding.

KoalaDownUnder · 07/08/2014 04:10

Model in a Bottle Long-lasting Eyebrow Sealer

I am paranoid about my brows rubbing off (hate the no-brow look, and mine are rubbish in their natural state), and this stuff is GOLD.

SecretWitch · 07/08/2014 04:33

Givenchy 4in1 mascara, very expensive but one of the few mascara's that does not irritate my sensitive eyes

Fresh lip balm in Rose. Lovely colour, makes ,my lips feel smooth and hydrated.

ihatethecold · 07/08/2014 06:47

Thanks mellie.
Just a bit pricey for me.
Shame because my eye circles are evident at the mo.
Will have to go back to Clinique I think.

ZacharyQuack · 08/08/2014 02:29

TheBalm concealer in a little round pot. Fantastic stuff, great colour match for my skin, slap it on with fingers and it blends really easily, doesn't crease or look weird and works under eyes and on rest of face.

Too Faced Chocolate Bar and Natural Eyes palettes - really lovely and the shadows blend together so easily that it makes it look like you know what you're doing.

Clinique's new blushers that look like daisies - really cute, great colours and easy to use.

Trilogy Rosapene night cream - lovely lovely lovely.

WildBillfemale · 08/08/2014 08:29

Rimmel 'Stay blushed' blusher.

A little tube of blusher - comes out as a bright garish mousse but seems to melt into a sheer liquid with the heat of your fingers. It's incredibly easy to blend and gives a lovely sheer wash of natural looking colour - perfect for summer. I've always stuck with powder blushes but this has converted me.

Mua smoked eye palette. Lovely colours, stay put all day.

AnnabelleDarling · 08/08/2014 10:30

Maybelline bb cream, love it more than the £££ I've tried

Boujois cc cream, more coverage than the bb

Vichy advanced line filler ( think it's called that). I have been using it for 2 months now and really seeing results, will definitely repurchase

Revlon chubby stick thing in Honey, v flattering colour

Bobbi Brown Slopes blusher used as an eyeshadow with Mac Plum lip liner used as eyeliner, really good colours for me

Chanel creme blush

I bought some Clinique Custom Repair Serum on the first day it came out in early June and it is nothing short of amazing. It is still going, 2 months later, so at £48 a pop not too bad considering I dont think I'll ever need a facial again.

All I have been doing extra to using it is using the free gift skin scrub the gave me. I usually use the Simple one which I will probably continue to buy that as its cheaper. They recommend putting a moisturiser over it but as I use BB or CC cream I haven't bothered bar the odd time and again used a cheap Simple moisturiser. I expect I will moisturise more in the winter.

The main benefits are that my skin texture has improved dramatically as has the redness. The best bit of all is that my brown scarring on my jawbone and neck from what I call "hormone spots" - you know the ones Hmm - has dramatically reduced. I've been using it right down to my increasingly crepy chest and that is loads better too. That makes me VERY happy!

I've tried products with similar claims before and my skin ends up getting angry and red. It just seems to get better with this stuff!

MyMeMy · 08/08/2014 19:08

Was looking at tinted moisturisers / light summer foundations in John Lewis as I use self tan on my body but not my face. They all looked unnatural (scary in fact), but one of the Guerlain MUAs quietly recommended Soleil tan de Chanel - it's bloody fantastic!

I use it as a base under a small amount of my regular pale shade of Lancome Air de Teint - somehow, the colour comes though and my skin looks great, more natural than the billions of bronzers/tinted moisturisers I've used before (NARS, MAC, Bobbi Brown etc.) - this ones a keeper!
