Would you buy a pair of shoes a size to small?

If they were in the sale at 1/3 of original price, and they looked fabulous on, and you would only wear them for the occasional night out. And obviously your feet were really hot and swollen today, and on an autumn evening the shoes would fit perfectly.

"Blimey You're a sensible lot,"

It has nothing to to with being sensible. I just can't walk in uncomfortable shoes.

I have done it quite a few times - but I don't seem to learn. I have given many pairs to charity shops, etc.

Shoes don't really relax to the extent that they become a full size bigger. They might become fractionally wider but they won't grow any longer.

Hopefully I have learned my lesson - I am now retired so can't afford to throw money away.

Not if I can help it, but I have size 8.5 feet, so sometimes I can't help it.

Nah, done it, got the sore toes AND the T-shirt. it's a waste of money.

You can pay to get them stretched at a decent cobbler
