I've just read the accompanying description of that godawful dress: "This unqiue Moschino strapless Popcorn dress perfectly showcases designer Jeremy Scott's pop-culture focused take on design. A veritable talking point, the exaggerated silhouette and colourful tongue-in-cheek popcorn illustrations will guarantee this style pulls focus at any event."

Yes, if the event is a film premiere, and you've been employed to direct customers to the concession stand. What next, square ballgowns with "Golf Sale" on?

The frosties bag is now sold out. But there is a waiting list.... ConfusedHmm

Anya strikes me as a bit Jekyll & Hyde: bonkers crisp packet bags vs normal handbags.

I like the 'normal stuff'. Have 3 things that I've bought all via The Outnet. Purse I bought today £225 to £45. £225 was obscene!! £45 is more reasonable for a leather purse.

Anya Hindmarch. Who the hell is buying this shit?

That popcorn dress is hilarious.

I did like the crisp bag when I saw it.

What the actual fuck are these bags?

One may as well hollow out a turd and use it as a bag. It would be a) cheaper and b) prettier.

angeltulips · 12/08/2014 21:09

I really don't get Anya hindmarsh (or more precisely her prices) - I don't like ANY of her handbags. Old fashioned and expensive.

That said, I will remind you all that she was the original purveyor of the shopping bag bag - she's clearly figured out novelty bags are big business.

mignonette · 13/08/2014 09:10

The people who buy these bags can afford to buy a bag every week and to them this price is cheap. They'll wear this then discard it as it is so closely associated with a very distinctive fashion period.

I quite like the Frosties bag for teenagers. Not for me.

IScreamForIceCream · 13/08/2014 09:25

What mignon said.

Also, these wild and crazy bits are 'PR pieces' - they'll be the ones that are used in magazines etc to bring a spotlight to the collection, to help the entire brand by making it more contemporary, more edgy (or whatever else is needed).

It is expected that not that many PR pieces will be sold, but their existence will benefit the brand as a whole so £££ will be made that way.

Oh yes, they generate HUGE interest and these bags have been around in Japan for decades. i remember going to S Korea and Japan in the early eighties and seeing little backpacks in the shape of a Pocari Sweat bottle so Anya is not even being original here.

Japan is the spiritual home of the kitsch and Kawaii and what sensible business person wouldn't want to take advantage of this and sell coals back to Newcastle so to speak?

Mumzy · 13/08/2014 09:36

Gosh she really has run out of ideas if she's resorted to opening her kitchen cupboards for inspiration. Whatever next shoes looking like Andrex bog rolls

moggle · 13/08/2014 10:13

Haha, when I was in my teens I used to make zip pouches out of ironed crisp packets, and wallets out of juice tetra paks. Don't really see how this is very different!

kaykayblue · 13/08/2014 10:57

I wonder who is sponsoring these designers...?

As if any designer could use a pre existing brand on their product without having explicit permission beforehand.

It's just dull.

Dookles · 13/08/2014 15:39

I think I just died a little

TequilaMockinBird · 13/08/2014 15:56

Thanks, Moschino dress and Pilchards bag bought for a wedding I'm going to.

Now, can anyone suggest shoes which would match?

If you have spent all your money on the bag and dress you could always go for a lovely pair of Converse.

They recommend you accessorise the Frosties bag (there is also a Cornflakes one) with the Georgiana Clutch... (tassel on the outside sweetie) laughed out loud at the Daz design! And sadly yes, it would appear they are printing digestives graphics onto actual snakeskin... this bothers me nearly as much as Costa Coffee taking over the world :(

moggiesmum · 14/08/2014 20:23

More money than sense - seems to apply to these -whoever buys them ? - - anyone??
