Getting a new pup, need new Wellies!

I'm getting a beautiful blue whippet in a few weeks and I suspect I'll be covering some mucky ground with him, so I want to invest in a pair of good waterproof and warm Wellies that will be a joy to walk in.

I already have a pair of sorrels for the coldest days but they are not the nicest things to walk in every day. I don't want Hunters - they looked nice but leaked after 6 months of very light wear.

Probably pay up to about £300 for the right pair - but happy to pay a lot less! Wink

I'm after stylish but practical.

Hello! I've got a whippet puppy. He is 12 weeks today!

I've just ordered dog walking coats for myself and my daughter. A warm waterproof one each and a lightweight waterproof rain coat each.

I have ordered my coats from FiFe Country as I couldn't find better prices. I spoke to them this morning on the phone and received friendly and helpful customer services.

They have a footwear section including willies at very reasonable prices

Wellies not willies!

Hunters have gone way downhill. I'm not surprised yours leaked.

Le Chameau do nice ones, I'll find a link.

Aigle are lovely but expensive.

Don't get muck boots as they can be slippery on the pavement.

There's a few to choose from here! Le Chameau or Aigle are worth it if you are walking any distance on wet ground. I have the Chameau with the vibram sole, and there's no visible wear after three years.

Thanks Shia, how exciting!

I got my Hunters 6 years ago and tbh I never expected to use them much and I haven't, they should have lasted forever!

The lady estate ones look good, neoprene lining with a Vibram sole, that's the kind of thing I'm after.

Thankfully I already have waterproof coats for summer and winter.

Aigles are lovely and very hard wearing . Last year I bought some 'country boots' which are much lighter than wellies ,seem to be hard wearing and are more comfortable .I spend much of the winter traipsing about in wet fields with my terrier.
