Hairdresser gave me a sample if the shampoo and mousse today, anyone used it and what do you think?

I am seriously balding on crown, use hair fibres when I can but really am desperate as can see through to scalp all over head now with several bald spots.

Any others suffering? You found anything that helps?

Cod

I am also suffering Cod, and sorry that you are too. Have you tried Regaine? I think that's all that is proven to work so far, although sadly I'm not having too much luck with it and i have nit found anything at all that's helped. How long have you been struggling with it for?

Hairdresser used it on my fine hair yesterday and I was impressed - It's not thinning just fine but hairdresser told me it 'fattened' the hair rather than volume at the roots the volumeactive shampoo gives. It really did seem to give it more body/weight and better still it stayed like that without becoming lank. I ordered the shampoo online last night.

L'oreal fibrology gets good raves here and is cheaper but I've always been allergic to the L'oreal shampoos (itchy scalp) so haven't tried this one.

Thank you. I've had fine hair for years, but I guess it's the last 3 or so, when youngest dc was 2, that I finally admitted it was not just post partum but permanent.

Not really surprising given my Ma and grandma were the same, feel awful for dd Hmm

Sorry others going through this too, I can cope with being overweight, can cope with having rubbish skin, also cope with not being beautiful but going bald I cannot cope with. GP was not interested once tests came back normal.

Am off to France on Friday so will see whether stuff any cheaper there.

The PLANTUR caffeine shampoo in a green bottle may be worth a try. The website is informative and I think it's about £8.

My ex SIL had problems with extremely thinning hair/balding patches in her early 30s and it was eventually traced to a thyroid problem.

I understand menopause can cause this too.

Mine has been falling out for the last 2 years. I also feel very sorry for my DD as it would be horrible if she inherited it too. I feel exactly the same as you, hair is such a big part of being a woman. Do let me know if you find anything that helps.

Does yours fall out constantly like mine does? I do get surprised I have anything at all left on my head with the rate it drops out.

codandchipstwice · 04/08/2014 08:37

WildBillfemale see that's the bind, I would love the menopause as periods give me such grief, but am paranoid that I'll lose what hair I have left. Thanks for the Plantur suggestion, will have a look.

Naicecuppatea so sorry you are going through this too, the weird thing is I don't notice is drop out, but then I never brush my hair (weird wavy hair that hates brushes)

I have just had my hair cut which whilst looking ace was horrid to actually do as I hate seeing myself set there with great patches of scalp showing when they comb my wet hair.

Oh well, First World Problem

I know, I feel the same about having my hair cut and rarely get it done. It does feel a lot better afterwards though.

I also wonder whether the menopause will make it even worse, somehow I think it will due to the hormonal changes.

As you say it should not be so upsetting, wish I had some better coping skills to deal with it.
