You can bump it if you can be arsed tethers. Thought you were more of a hippie chick anyway?

It was a pun on the idea of 'vintage is best', madama Wink

And yes, I'm strictly a '68-'77 girl Grin

Very excited to be off to spitlefields/brick lane today. Which retro shops are the best for me or is it all pot luck? I like 40s 60s 70s eras and am not after anything leather or denim.

tethersend · 02/08/2014 13:10

Blondie is pretty good but £££... There's another budget place round the corner on brick lane. There's lots of little pop up shops down brick lane which are worth a look. The bethnal green end of brick lane has the better vintage shops for 60s-70s stuff, IMO.

MCSpammer · 03/08/2014 14:58

Thanks tethers I walked past Blondie with the idea of 'doing bit later' but a late long lunch putvpay to that! Got a lovely skirt in Blitz, no label apart from a very small one on the inside waistband that says 42 which I'm guessing is a size (I am a 14 usually) so no idea where it came from. Is beautiful though. Loads of 80s stuff everywhere not what I would class as vintage being in my 40s but I guess to today's bright young things it is!

tethersend · 03/08/2014 15:08

It's scary, isn't it?

A lot of vintage shops are now doing NINETIES stuff. I am so old.

Glad you had fun Smile

Floisme · 03/08/2014 15:26

Does anyone know any places at all where you can still buy pre 1960s stuff? I used to love vintage (in fact it wasn't even vintage in those days just second hand) but can't get excited about 70s and 80s never mind 90s! I realise it wouldnt be cheap. Preferably yorkshire , manchester or derbyshire but would travel. Thanks.

MCSpammer · 03/08/2014 15:34

Places in York and Leeds listed here ...

this old thing

MCSpammer · 03/08/2014 15:36

Yes tethers ridiculous! Laura Ashley circa 1986 and shoulder pads just have no appeal.

Floisme · 03/08/2014 15:55

Thanks MC I'll take a look. Reslly wish I had kept more of my 70s-80s clothes; I could make a killing now!
