Should I get rid of my skinny boots?

Some people have skinny jeans - those jeans that if you fit back in them signifies you're 'skinny' again. I have boots. These boots last fit about 9/10 years ago. I recently tried them on and they actually fit but I'm not sure I'll ever wear them or whether they're terribly out of fashion now. I was 25 and going out lots, I used to wear them with tights and minis. I'm now 35, a SAHM and can't remember the last time I was out!

The boots are knee high brown suede with a alligator skin effect heel. Pics below. So should they stay or go??

Yes keep them.

I think the platform sole has had its day. Give them to a charity shop and make space in your wardrobe something new :-)

Off to the charity shop. They look dated now - treat yourself to something nice when all the new boots come in in a month or so! I moved house recently and threw out a lot of boots like this, they just didn't look fashionable any more.

The shops are still full of platforms burnishedsilver Confused

If you like them and they're comfortable keep them - they're still wearable with tights and mini dresses if you add a slight retro feel to your outfit, IMHO.

They look like classic brown boots to me - lovely with opaques and tweedy mini in autumn.
When you said skinny boots I thought you meant those awful tight knee high ones that look like they've been painted onto your legs! Usually in pleather.

MrsLettuce · 30/07/2014 16:45

yy, tweedy stuff would be great too. I think they're probably the sort of thing that one would chuck on a whim and then spend the next Xty years missing TBH.

Namechangearoonie123 · 30/07/2014 16:47

They're lovely. But can you still walk in them?

Helgathehairy · 30/07/2014 19:11

I can still walk in them. I used to work in retail and used to wear them during a 4 hour shift.

I think I'll keep them for now. If I don't wear them this autum/winter I'll get rid though. They do actually have a kind of retro 60s vibe about them.

Thanks all.
