Foundation brush - a revelation!

Ok, maybe I might be a bit late to the party, but last weekend I was away and decided to have a makeover on the Benefit counter.

The girls were lovely, I told them I was in the dark ages and hadn't changed how I put on make up for 20 years, and now I am mid late 40s I needed a change.

They primed my face with porefessional using a foundation brush, then their flawless foundation with the brush, and highlighted my cheekbones with fake up, they also did under my eyes with fake up to cover my dark circles.

I was very impressed, I'm not kidding my skin looked the best ever and looked very "dewy", it took about ten years off me!

I bought the above products and have done exactly the same at home, and it looks as good as when they did it in store.

I suppose my post is to say how much I loved using a foundation brush, and how much less foundation you use. Previously I was whacking on Clarins illusion just with my fingers - now I compare that looked very heavy and over made up.

Also wanted to ask you S&B gurus what you are supposed to use to clean the foundation brush with?

wash it with not too hot water and mild shampoo. dry it lying down or hanging with the bristles down.

When you wash it, be careful to only get the bristles wet. Try to avoid letting water get into the metal part which joins the bristles to the handle. If the glue which holds the bristles in place gets wet, it can be damaged.

Baby shampoo is fine for cleaning it. If my foundation brush gets too gunky, I sometimes rub some cream cleanser (the same as I use on my face) on the bristles, rinse and then shampoo it. Try to keep your brush as clean as you can, to stop bacteria building up which could then transfer to your skin.

I use baby shampoo. I'm a new convert to foundation brushes too! Grin

I use hibi scrub on my brushes. I went from fingers to a brush for foundation and it's a revelation. Much better finish. I like the real techniques stippling brush.
