Best, cheap moisturiser for the older woman...

Can anyone recommend something cheap, but good.

I'm 40, I'm used to using very expensive stuff, but I've got zero money at the moment, so I need something cheap, I'm talking supermarket brands...

Ok it's Nivea soft that I have in the cupboard. So I'll try that one out and see how I get on. Thank you for all your recommendations, would never have remembered about that tub if you'd not mentioned Nivea.

I have started using Astral after a thread on here a couplenof months ago about retro skin care.

My skin is the best it's ever been - its amazing stuff! The only thing is it is greasy so if using it for daytime you have to use it sparingly but as a night cream it's just the bollocks!

DameEdnasBridesmaid · 28/07/2014 08:18

The blue Nivea is greasy and takes too long to sink in. The Nivea Soft is in a white tub and in a tube. It's great.

I've just started using rosehip oil and it was £4 for 100ml online. Supposed to work miracles.
Also Aldi lacura range is excellent for over 40 skin.

I second Olay 7 in 1.

Astral for me! it smells nice and fresh and you can slather it everywhere!! My mum often gives me the samples / gifts from the luxury brands but I still prefer my astral :)

Wickedwaterwitch · 28/07/2014 11:25

I agree with Astral

moonshine · 28/07/2014 11:31

I use the light astral as a day cream as it's not as greasy as the other one - it comes in a light blue tub.

McBear · 28/07/2014 11:46

Doesn't astral come in a run that's suspiciously similar to Nivea?

I thought they were the same product rebranded?

Agree Nivea is extremely greasy.

Floisme · 28/07/2014 13:26

If Nivea doesn't work for you, try Astral. I don't use it any more myself because it irritates my skin but loads of people swear by it. Plus use a sunscreen.

Twinklestein · 28/07/2014 16:24

Extra virgin olive oil. I find Astral & Nivea too greasy - greasier than oil weirdly. Oil is absorbed into your skin better.

Twinklestein · 28/07/2014 16:25

Alsoo - this is very good for the price:

I like Garnier ultra lift. Lasts ages too.

oneperfectlimousine · 28/07/2014 18:33

another vote for the Lacura stuff with the blue lid - from Aldi and lovely. I use Nivea a lot as well, though not for day.

michellestub1965 · 28/07/2014 18:55

Nivea q10 factor 30 usually half price I.e £4.99 from super drug or wilkinsons

RandomDiva · 28/07/2014 18:59

Nivea Blue should be used as a night moisturiser or in cold weather. The white tub is for day use I think.

Who is the older woman in the OP?
You're 40 FFS!
