Sorry - another bra thread!

Hi all, I'm sorry that I haven't thought of something more original for my first post! I have been lurking for a while and I am fascinated by all the threads about how bras are measured.

Thanks to breastfeeding and recent weight loss I have been left with no boobs, I didn't have much to start with mind you, so have taken to wearing the gel filled bras which I don't really like as they are not that comfortable and very hot. However, they help me to feel more confident.

After reading these threads I bought a bra in a different size and it was laughable, my little boobs got totally lost in the cups!

So please could someone help me work out my correct size. My measurements are 28 back and 32 when leaning over (I hope this is the correct way!) When standing straight I think there's barely an inch different. I currently wear 32A.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Start with a 28D and work from there. I know that will sound crazy to you, but have a look at this link which shows women in properly fitted 28Ds...on a small band a D cup is quite petite

Thanks so much for the quick reply. 28D was the size I tried and it did not fit at all. Would that be down to the style do you think? My breasts are very 'empty' at the top - if you see what I mean. Do you know which style would be best?

It was a 'curvy Kate' bra that I tried. And I am definitely not curvy (on the top half anyway!).

Which CK bra was it?

Theonewiththreechildren · 27/07/2014 19:44

It was a Lola padded balcony.

Not one I've tried, but it looks like it has very tall cups and is relatively "stiff" shape wise - almost moulded but not quite. If you are relatively empty at the top, the best bras are balconettes or half cups. You're after something with quite a wide, squareish neckline which won't gape at the top. And moulded will be a pain, they're hard to fit on anyone!

A few off the top of my head would be Bravissimo branded half cups, Curvy Kate Tease Me, Fleurty, Entice etc, Freya Patsy Half Cup, Cleo Juna

Thank you so much for your help. I will go and have a look at the ones you've mentioned.

So I tried a cleo juna in 28D and it fitted better than the curvy kate. However, it did seem to almost flatten out what little boobs I have! I don't know if it's because I am used to wearing the bras with extra padding or because it is not a good fit. To be honest I think I need/want the padding! But the style I currently wear doesn't come in a 28 band (or anything smaller than a 32 I think). Would a 30C be worth a try (in a different padded style)? Because I think it was the tightness of the band making me feel flattened. And on checking my measurements again I actually measure almost 29 around my back.

Once again, thanks in advance for any help.
