Bras - padded vs non-padded

After browsing bravissimo's website today and liking the look of some of the non-padded, sheer bras, but not buying them as I don't do non-padded, I've been wondering, what are the pros of non-padded?

I've always worn padded bras as I have a fear of getting (ahem) nippy, and everyone seeing, but there must be a reason to wear them as lingerie shops sell them! Are they merely decorative? Wink

Please share bra wisdom with me! I may end up going wild and buy a non-padded bra for the first time ever!! Grin

Ps I promise I'm not some sort of bra padding perv, just don't have anyone to ask this irl and googling throws up some questionably sexist discussions on other forums Hmm

I only wear slightly padded bras. Not the moulded ones as I have never found one to fit me properly (I am a shallow boobed 30C or 30D), just slightly padded ones.

My nipples are incredibly sensitive and they become conical (not comical Smile) and look very very odd through clothes.

I don't find slightly padded bras hot in the slightest. This is the bra I wear most of the time, but I take thie padded inserts out

I've always preferred lightly padded, I feel more secure. I have v flat nipples so it's not that (although I am self conscious about them) and I am older and an E cup so not small.

Without any padding I would actually look like I don't have any boobs. Some of us need a bit of help Grin
