Red and black fitted satin dress from pepperberry; black feathery fascinator; black lace unstructured jacket; white carvela wedges?

Is so much black ok for a wedding? And are white shoes ok with black accessories? Help! Thanks :)

I think stilettos would be better but I sympathise....wedges are more comfy. I am going to a wedding next week and plan to start off in stilettos and take some pretty flat sandals to change into later on when people have had a few drinks and no one cares what shoes you're wearing.

Everyone looks silly in pashmina's!

I'd hope for the weather to be good enough that you don't need a jacket but have something either from your existing wardrobe or something that you'll get a lot of use from in reserve just in case but intend to brave it without for the photos. Every wardrobe needs a navy blazer and/or navy cardigan. I hate buying things for weddings that will never see the light again.

What about pink or navy block heeled sandals? More practical than stillettos and more on trend than wedges. Again, on the theme of wearing them again, pink shoes are surprisingly easy to wear.

Nice dress. Please, please not that fascinator or a black jacket.

You sound as if you're moving in the right direction now.

Navy shoes good - could be wedges if stylish - better that IMO than stilettos that you're not comfortable in and therefore perhaps move awkwardly in.

If you have a John Lewis or Debenhams
then book a free stylist session and take your dress and see what they accessorise it with. It will save you a lot of money on expensive mistakes.

Well, I love pashminas and don't look silly in them! at least I don't think I do.....

Seriously though, it depends how you wear them I think. Casually thrown round your shoulders when you're a bit chilly is good. Looking like you are strangling yourself with a winter scarf is not good.

I have lots. I always take one on a plane and roll them up and use them as a pillow, or put them over my head when I really don't want to talk to the stranger next to me Grin

Personally, I think they can make an outfit but I am old and boring
