I have a number of dresses on order to be delivered this week and I think a nude

Oops...

I think a nude shoe would be best even though I know nude is very cliche nowadays. We're taking our toddler so I can't imagine wearing a 4.5 inch stiletto all day but I do need height. Any ideas what style of shoe I should go for?

Hah. Trainers. Wink

MsVenus · 20/07/2014 22:47

Mid heel wedges will give you height, comfort and stability.

Any shoe that makes you look & feel beautiful Grin

I would wear this sort of thing. Retro, lowish heel but with straps and supportive. Would go with a multitude of dresses, come in various colours. Job done.

Doc martens. Any time, any place, anywhere.

i wore them to my own wedding, they were very comfy.

herecomesthsun · 20/07/2014 22:57

personally, I might well go for a metallic flat - or a metallic mid to low wedge, depending of course on how it sat with the hem line etc

polyhymnia · 20/07/2014 23:05

I would personally go for exactly the same as Herecomes would just caution against Hotter. They really are incredibly frumpy and you could get many more glamorous flats.

I don't like all if Hotter's range, by no means! Grin

However I do quite like the ones I posted, I am not proud. Should I Blush?

slithytove · 20/07/2014 23:52

2 pairs. One for ceremony and photos, another pair for the dancing and running etc.

EverythingCounts · 20/07/2014 23:54

Wedges. Comfortable but with height. Also, rope someone else in to do the running after the toddler Smile

capsium · 20/07/2014 23:57

A man could be, quite justifiably, be roped in for the running. They wear flats as a matter of course and are often quite proud of athletic prowess IME...

MrsAtticus · 21/07/2014 02:13

Ballet flats

Casmama · 21/07/2014 07:51

I would ditch the toddler and wear high shoes!

I went to a wedding my my DD was almost 2. I went flying in my (beautiful) shoes when I was trying to chase her.

It was the most embarrassing moment of my life. The wedding was full of strangers and work colleagues. Then I couldn't find DH for about an hour and stood with DD and a really swollen knee while inwardly dying..

Flats? Smile

LadyIsabellaWrotham · 21/07/2014 08:45

Wedges. In the interests of research I just ran across the (quiet) road I'm walking on in my 2 inch wedge ankle strap sandals and they were fine. But do try on as not all wedges are equally comfy/practical

lurkingaround · 21/07/2014 09:32

I can't link atm but have a look at the www.enbrogue.com blog. She did a post about flat wedding shoes a little while ago. Some nice ones iirc.

Hughfearnley · 21/07/2014 17:12

There are some lovely block heel sandals around with an ankle strap. I bought some cream ones as I am getting married and I won't last the whole day in my ridiculous heels!

samesh1t · 21/07/2014 17:14

Hughfearnley - where are you cream ones from?
