Crocs - help me with sizing please!

Bit cheeky, but I went into a croc shop with 9 year old ds to find out his shoe size so that I could then go home and order them online from ebay at a more reasonable price. The store assistant told me he was size 4/6 which is the smallest adults size.

However, on ebay, the sizes are single sizes and not dual, and some of the descriptions make a point of saying that they are UK sizes. Are croc sizes not UK sizing then? I'm having trouble knowing what size to order, any ideas?

Look at his shoe size and then match it to the size (on Amazon), that is how I bought them for my children.

I find them large on my children but they have very skinny feet.

TheReluctantCountess · 19/07/2014 22:50

Get them direct from Crocs - then you know you are not getting fakes.

whethergirl · 19/07/2014 22:51

Even in the croc shop they seemed quite large, but I think that's just the style Pancake. I think ebay are a bit cheaper than Amazon but will take another look.

Can you get the sizing from Amazon then transfer that to Ebay?

whethergirl · 19/07/2014 22:53

But £30 is just so steep for a pair of summer slip ons TheReluctantCountess. I bought him a pair of croc style shoes from Next last year but he found them a bit uncomfortable and ended up with a couple of blisters. I was hoping that crocs would be more comfy for his feet.

I have a black pair and i am a six. Be careful though. I ordered a pair from china and they were great..took ages but they were too small. I would go on to amazon and find reviews first. They vary in size depending upon the type you have.

TheReluctantCountess · 19/07/2014 22:56

Real Crocs won't cause blisters, trust me.
Also, click on Offers at the top of the page, and weekly offers, and there is a discount code for Crocs.

Go to the croc shop and get them. Yes they are more expensive but they will last. I have crocs brought from the croc shop that are 4-5yrs old and still going strong!

nipersvest · 19/07/2014 22:56

crocs are hard to buy online due to the way the sizings are listed, are you near either a branch of tk maxx or sports direct?, both stock crocs and both sell at discounted prices, i got ds a pair from tk maxx for £7.

Greengardenpixie · 19/07/2014 22:56

I bought mine from china and they were £13 and perfect..but even although i bought the size of my others..the mary janes i got were small.

Greengardenpixie · 19/07/2014 22:57

Mine from ebay were not fakes.

nipersvest · 19/07/2014 22:57

£7 was for real branded crocs btw

TheReluctantCountess · 19/07/2014 23:00

Tk maxx is great if you don't mind not having the latest style, which doesn't matter one bit! My current pair were bought in 2012 and so aren't current. Ds has last year's style, which still fit. I estimate that mine will last for at least one more year, but ds will need bigger for next summer.

whethergirl · 19/07/2014 23:01

Fantastic, thanks for the code TheReluctantCountess and nipersvest - I can get to a sports direct, didn't think of that.

ShitStickSugar if they were for me, I would buy them from the croc shop but it's just a waste of money for ds - he'll only get one summer's wear out of them, they'll be too small by next summer.

TheReluctantCountess - latest style?! They all look the same to me!

OP posts:
TheReluctantCountess · 19/07/2014 23:03

Oh they bring out slightly different styles each year. It's wasted on me - I'm not a particularly fashion-orientated person.

whethergirl · 19/07/2014 23:12

I've just had a look on the sports direct website, they are cheaper than ebay/amazon as well. I'll drag take ds to a store next week, that way he can try them on and we'll know it's the right size for sure.

Thanks for the advice everyone!

The sizing is a bit odd and they are always wide, but they are stupidly comfortable.

We walked miles round Disney and ran, literally, because if show times, round seaworld and neither DD had even a faintly sore foot. Meanwhile, my heal had had enough in my old trusty Clarks sandals, that have walked hundreds of hard town and country miles.

whethergirl · 19/07/2014 23:27

ElephantsNeverForgive I've always worried that they wouldn't be suitable for when ds rides his bike/plays in the playground/runs around but I see kids wearing them all the time doing all sorts of stuff.

OP posts:
TheReluctantCountess · 19/07/2014 23:32

Ds wears his all the time, cycling, walking, playing football, climbing in the playground. No problems.
