any tips?
it seems to go away after a couple of hours. but I have occassionally been asked if I had a rough night.
I sleep 7-8 hours a night. more or less undisturbed unlike the last three years thanks to dc2

Do you use face cream before bed? I have to avoid eye cream or it makes me puffy too. Do you drink enough water in the day?

mousmous · 19/07/2014 15:53

yes I do use night cream at night (have eczema around my eyes).
I think I drink enough, a liter of water at least + copious amounts of tea.

it's better after a couple of hours, but that's usually before I turn up at work.

Could be the heat and humidity.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 19/07/2014 16:01

According to google it's common and can be due to dehydration, diet, too much salt and high blood pressure.

Try silk pillowcase.

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 19/07/2014 17:58

Can you raise your pillow slightly (either use two pillows, a firmer one or one of those wedge things) and drink more water ( a litre is good but you'll be sweating it out) and tea is a diuertic too ( makes ya pee more Wink )

mousmous · 19/07/2014 18:13

I have a very firm and large pillow (80x80cm)
very very low blood pressure
I like salt Blush
will try to drink more.
thanks all

I get this sometimes, but it's usually because I haven't slept well, have over indulged on the wine, or both Confused I find that facial massages before bed and in the mornings helps a little.

As Dame mentioned, too much salt can leave you looking bloated and puffy around the face.

Also, if you're drinking loads of tea, the caffeine could be making you quite dehydrated, which can lead to puffiness.

prisonerofallisurvey · 20/07/2014 17:34

I don't want to worry you but if the puffiness is very obvious there are some medical conditions which can cause this. Keep an eye on it and if you find it becoming worse then do get yourself checked at the GP.
