Those of you that use the amazon kit, what shampoo and conditioner are you using afterwards?

I'm on my second day after applying the treatment, it's looking lovely and I don't want to mess it up!

I used sainsburys kids shampoo, the cherry one smelt lovely.

Well up until recently, I would have said the Keratin Kits no salt shampoo and conditioner on Amazon. I had tried others, but couldn't get a lather and my hair just didn't feel clean.

Using the keratin kits one made my hair feel initially clean, but it got greasy much quicker than before the treatment and so I assumed that it was the treatment itself that made my hair greasier. I ran out of it recently and purely out of desperation, used the tresseme keratin shampoo and I much prefer this. You get a good lather and my hair lasts about a day longer than when I was using the keratin kits one.

I have tried the Sainsburys' cherry kids shampoo but it made my hair feel a bit dry so I bought the Keratin Kits no salt shampoo which is better, but I do agree with twentysomething that it makes your hair a bit greasier than usual.

It is confusing as hairdressers always say that you just need to use a sulphate-free shampoo, but the Amazon kit states that it must be salt-free, which is really difficult to find. I have heard that Holland and Barrett stock some good organic shampoos so I am going to check and see if they are salt-free.

I think that Keratin Kits shampoo is the only one with no salt, whereas apparently most conditioners (pretty much all) don't contain salt or sulphate.

Personally though, I would rather have my treatment last not quite as long, but not have to wash my hair so much, which is a blood chore! Don't get me wrong, the treatment has dramatically cut down on styling time, but it still takes about 20 minutes, instead of an hour Confused

It's starting to wear off quite a lot now, but I'm not sure if I'll do another treatment tbh. Heard some pretty alarming things about the formaldehyde supplement and that's basically that when this other chemical is heat activated, which it very much is, it releases the same bad stuff as formaldehyde......so I'm a little bit torn.

HopefulMum111 - the Tresemme Keratin shampoo isn't salt free? Fourth ingredient is 'sodium chloride' (or salt to you and I!).
