Hi all you georgeous people, I need some help please if you'd be so kind.

I have a date, with a very lovely man. I'd like to impress. Also, we are going to the savoy and shoreditch house in London. I'm a teensy bit intimidated.

The issue is i'm a bit of a chubster. However I have 3 weeks and a little bit of cash to throw at the problem.

I'm 5'8, size 14 and 27. I've dark sort of ombred hair (i know its going out of fashion) green eyes, naturally pale but fake tan. best feature is my legs/boobs, worst is tum. dont want to wear too high heels as he's not much taller than me.

Any ideas? Thank you so much for any help!

Love the third dress, the draping is fab

SinglePringle · 17/07/2014 22:22

Love the second and the third. Second possibly a tad too worky? Go for the third!

BrokenCircleBreakdown · 17/07/2014 22:25

I like the first all saints one best

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 17/07/2014 22:25

second and third are my faves, will pop in and try them on tomorrow if they have them. All saints generally good shape on me. SP do you reckon i'd look out of place in one of those? need shoes too... ankle boots?

Thanks everyone!

Hmm Not my kind of thing ...those pale ones could be kinda draining i think .. (I still do like my blue black one better than all of those) but this all saints one is nice?

SinglePringle · 17/07/2014 22:33

Either would be great. And no-one would know if it were Westwood or AS Wink.

Personally wouldn't go for ankle boots with that length. I'd go for a heel. I'll have a look...

SinglePringle · 17/07/2014 22:34

Oh - and the cocktails at SH are freakin' lethal really good. I've sampled many of them many times!

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 17/07/2014 22:35

Oooh! there was a westwood dress I had my eye on a while ago... off for a rummage

That Innes dress is nice but I'd wear to to work. And it won't work at The Savoy.

SinglePringle · 17/07/2014 22:38

these with the cream dress?

SinglePringle · 17/07/2014 22:39

more

SinglePringle · 17/07/2014 22:41

Nice contrast and a lower heel

SinglePringle · 17/07/2014 22:42

would look AWESOME! Get these!!

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 17/07/2014 22:47

I love Anna Boutique and they have a great sale on at the moment.

How about a long slit skirt here worn with a glam top, tucked in with some cool shoes?

This type of skirt suits a lovely striped T shirt, a little wool summer weight sweater or fluffy angora cardigan worn over a light weight V neck t shirt. With your hair and pale skin tone, you'd love glam Angelina. She likes a flash of leg too.

PhantomTollbooth · 18/07/2014 13:42

Meant to say that the stores are full of long skirts in lightweight silks so you'd not necessarily need to like that one.

Tall girls look amazing in them.

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 18/07/2014 13:51

I do like that skirt

SinglePringle · 18/07/2014 14:01

That is a very nice skirt. Nice for this weather too. Wouldn't be wearing a jumper though Grin.

PhantomTollbooth · 18/07/2014 14:18

It is quite versatile in that it will bridge summer and winter and for cooler evenings a very light weight sweater would tuck in neatly and give that long bodied silhouette that looks so elegant.

But I agree, wearing a sweater today- not good!

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 18/07/2014 15:34

Not sure about tucking in... always feel it draws attention to and emphasises my tummy roll :(

PhantomTollbooth · 18/07/2014 15:47

Tuck in then wear a little cardi or short jacket/bolero/shrug over the top. It draws the eye downwards funnily enough but if you choose one that closes at the front, it'll disguise your tummy.

The fabric the skirt is made of is important too. Enough structure or body that it skims the tum, not too clingy and preferably softly gathered or an inverted pleat to the front. Have an experiment. Also darker colours hide any tummy swell.

gininteacupsandleavesonthelawn · 18/07/2014 15:51

I'll head for the shops asap, they all seem to be full of sale at the moment though :( hate rummaging

That Anna website is nice.

SuburbanCrofter · 18/07/2014 17:12

The third All Saints dress. Looks stylish but not trying to hard.
