Buying nursing bras before baby...

I'm having a nightmare trying to work out what size I should buy. I live abroad where apparently ladies don't wear nursing bras, or at least they get them from a super secretive store that I don't know about.

So, right now, at 29 weeks, I'm wearing a random selection of bras, none of which fit me particularly well. I'm trying to order some online so that when my mum comes, she can bring them out for me.

I've used about 15 different guides and they all give me a different measurement, and not sure how much the beasts will grow when the baby's here. Can anyone wise help me?! Across bust, I'm 102cm, and under 84/85cm.

I don't think you'll have much luck guessing what size you'll be after, at least not yet. Could you get hold of some nursing clips (easier said than done...) and convert a soft bra you buy in the shops where you are?

Unfortunately it's almost impossible to guess as some people expand lots in the bust, some not much at all. Plus your ribs wille xpand more between now and then and then shrink back once baby makes an appearance

Your current measurements would suggest something around a UK 34E/F just now.

I would also suggest buying nursing clips, and that way you can just buy normal bras and convert.

I have heard very good things about this royce which is multi sized. You could risk ordering the 34E/F/FF and 34G/GG/H as one should be reasonable and tide you over until your breasts settle

I had the Royce blossom. Definitely did the job for the first few weeks / months and might be flexible enough for you.
When is your mum visiting?

Fantastic, thanks so much for the suggestions.

The Royce looks great, and I'll definitely invest in nursing clips. My mum's coming in October just after my due date, but can send some clips out to me before then just in case. I can now stop anxiously glancing at other women's chests to figure out how they've managed to do it, so thanks again.

Clips aren't easy to get! If you know anyone who might have old (worn out, even!) nursing bras that's the cheapest way to do it.

I bought a couple of really soft nursing bras for the first few weeks then did a huge order from Figleaves of various sizes and brands. By that point I knew more what I wanted/needed.

I'd go for the same chest size as you wear now (assuming you wear them on the tightest hooks, you can always loosen them a bit), and a couple of cup sizes bigger.

With the best measuring in the world, you'll never find a bra which will fit your boobs in the early days of bfing because they change size on a hourly basis!

This may be a bit weird, apologies if so, but I have 4 or 5 nursing bras that haven't been work much so in good condition, the sizes are 36 and 38 C. Whether the sizes would be quite right for you I don't know but in my experience, comfort not shape is the most important and I found these comfy. I will link to them in a min, they were from John Lewis, I have black and pink. Like I said feel free to say no but I am happy to send them to you for just the postage costs if you would like them

Thanks everyone, really helpful.

And littlemoocow, such a kind offer, thank you! Not weird to me at all! I just don't think the sizes would fit as am in a D/DD now. Thanks again though, much appreciated!
