Need high neck tops. Not my usual style. Help!

I am apple shaped size 18 and usually wear scoop neck/v neck/low tops as they are much more flattering. However due to an unfortunate accident I need to cover up this area for the foreseeable future.

I am totally out of my comfort zone with this. I always find high necklines unflattering and make me look bigger than I am.

Has anyone got any suggestions of where to look?

Can anyone suggest styles that will give me some coverage but be a bit flattering?

I feel very self conscious and a bit down about it so maybe a couple of nice tops would cheer me up.

Thanks

Thanks upup. Looks like that style might work but also need something summery too.

Scarves?

Do people wear scarves in summer or will I just be drawing more attention to my self?

I wear scarves in summer, and lots of people do, I think, but they do add warmth, so you need to choose ones that are very lightweight. Sorry to hear about your accident.

I still wear scarves in the summer too.

Thanks for the replies.

I did a quick shopping trip today and tried on a few things. I think shell type tops are best in terms of the high neckline I need but they are NOT flattering on me at all. I suppose I might just have to grin and bear it for now.

I have some burns which are healing well but need to be out of the sun for now and also due to vanity I'd prefer them to be covered.

I'm having a look on DorothyPerkins. They seem to have loads of the shell style tops.

Sorry about your accident kahori

It's worth asking your GP for a referral to your local Cosmetic Camouflage Clinic once your burns have healed. They match your skin perfectly (with summer & winter colours if necessary) using a cream & powder combination. It doesn't come off easily. Any skin colour can be matched.

I'm a GP & have seen amazing results - one lady had a dreadful scar on her leg from a motorcycle accident in her youth & wanted to wear shorter stuff in the summer - i really couldn't see the join when she was wearing her camouflage.

It's an NHS service by the way Smile

Thanks witch. Luckily the burns on my chest area are not too severe so should heal well in time. I have some worse ones on my shoulder & arm but they are easier to cover.

Oh I'm glad they'll probably fade away in the end Smile
