Very bad under eye circles - what's best to cover them?

So I spent Monday trawling cosmetic counters as I need some new make up. I came away with some Bobbi Brown cream eye shadow in mink, some sparkle powder in mica and some gel eyeliner (which I can't do) in denim ink. Oh and also a clinique chubby stick in pudgy peony. I'm a hoc winter so I'm hoping these will be ok.

However none of the counters could cover my under eye circles, which are purple, grey and bruise like. Heavy duty creams / pastes just seem to sit in lines or are far too drying on an already dehydrated area. Does anyone have any recommendations? I need something that really works is easy to do and doesn't look cakey or dry. Am I asking the impossible?

My dd uses a MAC product for this and it is incredibly good.
She hated being asked if she was tired when she wasn't!

Another vote for Laura Mercier secret concealer here too! You definitely have to use a brush tho, as Bump says, it's too creamy to apply with fingers. It's proper magic for my circles, and stays put all day without shifting/caking.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer is my hero. If I don't put it on I get "oh you look knackered" from everyone!

Is that collection concealer the concealer that's about a fiver? Is it really that good?

Yup!

I haven't tried any one the higher end ones because I'm always broke but it works. I'm pale and it's the only shade that works for me.

Benefit erase paste is the thickest I have used and fine for sensitive skin. I also sometimes do a fake tan on my face, that way the dark circles are less noticeable.
