Well I think diet helps but deep conditioner twice a week helps.

I leave mine on 20 mins and go for protein rich ones.

MaloryArcher · 11/07/2014 17:12

Fairy liquid.

Seriously. It is amazing. I've had strangers stop me in public to ask me how I get my hair so shiny.

Icantcook · 11/07/2014 17:38

Maybe consider a shampoo like timotei organically to clarify your hair/get rid of the build up left by any styling products etc

Greengardenpixie · 11/07/2014 17:46

Fairy liquid? Really? Wow...i have used that when ive run out and as a last resort and its made it super dry!! ...but then what works for some people may be different for others.
I have always been told that if you use coldish water as the last rinse it should make it supershiny. Not sure if it does but its worth a try and costs you nothing. Try some of the hair oils around. Kerastase hair oils are fantastic and are believe it or not, non greasy and limp making [ unless you put on loads!]

Hetaera · 11/07/2014 21:07

When the boiler broke and I had to wash my hair with cold water, it looked and felt great afterwards. It was not fun though!

But maybe a long, final cool rinse?

PurpleWithaMysteryBun · 11/07/2014 23:36

Extra virgin olive oil as deep conditioning treatment and to stop ends drying, apply t ends before blow drying.

Cold final rinse as above in the shower and cool shot to finish when blow drying. Diet amd if your bottle blonde provoke touch of silver shampoo, make mine shiny.

Also volumising mousse, if very straight hair I would towel dry, lightly brush and then finish with hair dryer to get some texture.

I too cold rinse ....

BitOutOfPractice · 12/07/2014 05:01

Thank you ladies.

What diet tips do you have then for shiny hair? I'm hoping it's chips Grin

Alpacacino · 12/07/2014 08:34

Fish oil capsules, good olive oil on salad and quite a lot of avocados! Generally eating healthy stuff. Make chips in air fryer.

StormCloudsGathering · 12/07/2014 11:24

Cold rinse and argan oil

WildBillfemale · 12/07/2014 12:31

Detox shampoo every 1-2 weeks followed by deep conditioning treatment.
Minimise colouring/processing/heat styling.

nuts
avocado
protein
protein
more protein
not chips unfortunately

PlentyOfPubeGardens · 12/07/2014 12:43

I was just coming on to say ecover washing up liquid but Malory has already posted Fairy! I would have thought that would be a bit harsh.

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 12/07/2014 13:40

try a clarifying shampoo then a good conditioner, my hair is loving the macademia range just now. Leave it on while you have a soak in the bath with a face pack Smile then rinse thoroughly pat dry with a towel after a final cold rinse, two drops of macademia oil run through after rubbing in you hands, maybe an extra drop just for the ends if they are dry then either blow dry or let it dry naturally. soft and shiney loveliness.

Beautifullymixed · 13/07/2014 00:45

Right now have extra virgin olive oil on my hair with a carrier bag on top (classy me Grin) I shall sleep all night with it on and let it penetrate my hair.

Shampoo off tomorrow and apply deep conditioner.
Voila shiny hair.

Coconut oil is fab too,but have run out.

A drop of either oil on hair before blow drying.
I have no split ends now and I'm sure it's the natural oils alongside ditching the straighteners.

botanicbaby · 13/07/2014 01:03

last rinse with white vinegar. gives the best ever shine.

MerryInthechelseahotel · 13/07/2014 01:06

My mum always did that for us botanicbaby

MerryInthechelseahotel · 13/07/2014 01:07

Smells very fresh, I should add! Not a bit like a chippy!

Beautifullymixed · 13/07/2014 09:09

Also organix coconut anti breakage serum.
Not too greasy, lovely smell and has protein in it.
Hair feels protected and is shiny.

Elledouble · 13/07/2014 09:52

Have you tried Argan oil? The Lee Stafford one is quite reasonably priced and lasts ages (cos you only need a tiny bit) and it makes blow-drying faster too. I sometimes use it to tame frizz between washes too.

todayisnottheday · 13/07/2014 10:00

My mum put me onto this, now we all do it and the difference is incredible. Apparently she read some article on it. My dds hair is stunning, so shiny, her natural highlights shine through, really thick where it was very thin before, doesn't break, easy to brush, no wispy bits. ... shall I go on Grin

Step 1 apply conditioner, leave 2 minutes, rinse.
Step 2 apply shampoo, lather, rinse.

That's it! I'm going to try and put a picture up, honestly it is incredible and no extra time/money involved.
