JL personal shopper- which store is best?

Having lost a bit if baby weight and getting ready to go back to work, I'm planning a personal shopper trip for work clothes. Never done it before but heard v good things about John Lewis.

I'd appreciate hearing any thoughts from fellow mumsnetters who've fine this. Particularly, is a big store best. DH suggested Oxford street, but I'm not sure if this'll be too busy and whether a smaller store will give a more personal service. Downside is obv less choice in smaller stores, I guess.

Thank you!

The appointment is for 2 hours and you have a dedicated shopper - so however busy the store is, it shouldn't matter, surely? I'd go to Oxford Street

I have done it a few times it's brilliant. I think they aren't doing appointments till after the sale now. Make sure you are clear on your budget.

Thanks both. Hoping to do it in August, so hopefully there'll be appointments by then.

Has anyone used Liverpool or Milton Keynes John Lewis personal shopper? They are my other store options. Thanks

Never tried it but I've heard good things about the Bluewater PS service.
And it's a big store.
I'm sure anything not in stock can be ordered in for you?

Blush just saw Liverpool/Milton Keynes.
You might not want the schlep across The Dartford Crossing then.

I went to Liverpool just a few weeks ago! She was great - I think I am always going to shop this way in future Grin Grin

Thanks for your help. Think I'm going to go for the local option (am in the north west).

Yes they will order anything out ofstock and also organise alterations. You can take in aany clothes you already have that you want things to go with. It is a great service, and completely free

Ah - well I would have recommended Liverpool, but saw Oxford Street and assumed you were in London Blush

She was quite a bit younger than me, which worried me - but the stuff she brought me exactly matched what I'd asked for. She brought a lot of tops in a particular style, and eventually I was brave enough to say I don't like that style - and she just "got" what I was after and came back with loads of great tops. She picked out vast quantities of things I would never have picked up - some I hated, some I loved - and by the end of 2 hours I walked out on the the shop floor and was just overwhelmed by the amount of stuff there, I could never have picked out the things I bought on my own. And she wasn't pushy at all - when I said I wouldn't pay £150 for a dry clean only dress (that was beautiful Sad) she agreed with me, even if she was secretly thinking I'm a cheapskate! I would def go back, and would def recommend

Thanks Lordemsworth. That's great to hear. Pondered Oxford st as could visit my in-laws and had to London if I needed to but great to hear positive things re Liverpool.

I couldn't pay £150 for a dry clean dress either! Shock
