Would this haircut suit a long-ish face?

I'm having my haircut on thurs and thinking of a serious change.
It's currently bra strap length, straight and thick, blond highlights. Bit of a fringe.
I have a long face and since dc2 was born 6 months ago it's permanently piled on top of my head.
Whatcha think?
Pic attached, or Here's something similar
Thanks!

I think it may accentuate a long face because of the length of it? Im no expert though!

LadyWithLapdog · 08/07/2014 22:31

Yeah, you might need to cut it jaw length to make your face appear rounder.

I dunno. SJP gets away with all sorts that shouldn't technically suit a long face. I think it'd be good. And isn't a fringe supposed to do "wonders" for a long face?

Here, take a look at this (also posting link -above body of message - I got this from as there are links within it to cuts mentioned):

beauty.about.com/od/hairstylephotogalleries/ss/longface.htm

If you, like me, have a long face shape there are hairstyles that look good and hairstyles that look bad on you. Here are some rules when considering a hairstyle for a long (or "oblong" face shape):

  1. If you have straight hair, you can create more width with bangs. Bangs make your face appear shorter because they cover up a particularly large forehead. You can wear anything from blunt bangs to long, side-swept bangs. Learn more in Best Bangs by Face Shape.
  1. Chin-length bobs and cuts are also ideal for you because they create the illusion of width.
  1. Long, straight hair is typically a no-no on a long face shape because it drags the face down. However, you can break this "no long hair" rule if you have waves or curls. A lot of body adds width to the sides of the face.
  1. Consider the uber-trendy long bob (as seen here on actress Adrianne Palicki), which is very flattering on a long face. The length is perfect, as is her soft waves. Ask your stylist for an "A-line Long Bob" where the back is about 1 1/2 inches shorter than the front.
  1. If you like short hair, avoid short layers that add volume on top.

Find out which short hairstyles are flattering to long faces.

Going by the info in the link I posted, that hair style you posted should work well as it's past chin length and the longer sideswept fringe shortens the face.

Meant to add, at that length you should still be able to put it up when you want (you'd at least get it in a clamp or small pony tail).

Thanks! May just go for it...
