Festivals for someone who doesn't wear hotpants!

Everywhere you look, there are wotsit coloured arses hanging out of teeny shorts and that just isn't me. I have 3 festivals booked for this summer and am trying to figure out what to wear, can anyone help?

I'm wondering if skirts/dresses are more practical for the gross loos situation?

I'm a size 10/12, pear shape, 5"3. I'm not confident with my legs so need something knee length or longer. I want to look good, but crop tops and shorts just won't work for me. I'm worried that I will look like a frump in leggings or longer dresses!

I went to a festival a few weeks ago. I wore dresses with leggings under and took some jeans in case it was cold. People wear all sorts, I was at download and people really didn't give a shit, wear what the frig you want! Have a good time.

At Glasto this year, you'd have been fine with skirts (floaty are quite good - easier to sit down, and good for the loos). I'd say above the knee is best though. You'll have your wellies up to your knees anyway, so it's not as though there's much leg on show as it is. Likewise, plenty of people wearing leggings (and you can then layer when it's chilly in mornings / evenings, but strip off when it's warmer).

For me, layering is key. So for Glasto (bearing in mind we weren't camping, so had a warm bed and shower every day), I would wear jeans (mistake - if you get wet, you're cold all day and take forever to dry) or shorts, a vest top, then a SS tee, I'd carry a LS top in my bag and a cashmere jumper or hoody and scarf. Serious layering. Oh, and welly socks so the tops of your wellies don't rub on your bare legs.
